As Moza grabs the crystal from a frozen Neri and playfully tackles Elgar, the Griffin is roused and sends Elgar, Moza and the crystal toppling over the cliff. Now Jobah, feeling power-hungry, is caught between helping Neri or pursuing the crystal. He decides the crystal is more important and dives into the water to fetch it. With the help of Mandrool, Neri manages to free herself and the others. Shema and the Flyers suggest that perhaps Jobah is not the friend they had thought him to be. Neri hopes to prove them wrong.
Meanwhile, the Griffin grabs Moza and Elgar and drops them into the crater of a volcano. As it erupts and explodes, Moza and Elgar find themselves falling towards Galiel’s meteor.
Zardor is summoned by the King (again possessed by Galiel) and ordered to focus on finding Jobah, the traitor and thief, before he leaves with the crystal. Zardor, as always, faithfully swears he’ll obey the King’s orders.
Moza und Elgar haben Neri und ihre Freunde zu Eissäulen werden lassen. So können sie mit dem Kristall fliehen. Doch sie haben nicht mit dem Greif gerechnet. Der attackiert sie aus der Luft, so dass beide die Klippe hinunterstürzen. Jetzt muss Jobah schnell entscheiden: Was ist wichtiger, der Kristall oder die Rettung Neris? Er entscheidet sich für den Kristall und kann ihn noch gerade vor dem Sturz bewahren. Moza und Elgar aber werden vom Greif gepackt und zu einem Vulkan transportiert. Schnell frieren sich die beiden ein, so dass der Vulkan sie wieder ausspuckt. Und das in so hohem Bogen, dass sie gleich auf Galiels Meteorit landen. Neri indes ist es mit Hilfe Mandrools Telepathie-Kräften gelungen, sich und ihre Freunde aufzutauen. Jetzt wissen sie, dass Jobah kein wirklicher Freund ist. Neri versucht, ihn telepathisch zu erreichen, doch Jobah bricht den Kontakt ab. Er will nur noch so schnell wie möglich auf seinen Planeten.
