肇始，時殷商紂王（馬景濤 飾）拜祭之時為女媧娘娘的美貌所攝，不禁淫心觸動，遂寫下輕佻詩詞。此舉觸怒女媧，於是派出千年狐狸精前往殷商禍亂朝綱，斷其龍脈。不久，紂王聽信崇侯虎（李建新 飾）讒言，執意命冀州候蘇護之女妲己（范冰冰 飾）入宮。途中狐狸精暗中掉包，假扮妲己入宮，遂與朝中奸臣禍亂內外，豎炮烙、修蠆盆、掘酒池、圍肉林，任人為奸、陷害忠良，致令舉國上下怨聲載道，四方諸侯群雄並起。時西伯侯之子姬發（周傑 飾）指天立誓，討伐商紂。朝代更迭的車輪自此而動，凡人天神紛紛捲入其中，書寫出一部浩浩蕩蕩的封神榜……
