Alex Polizzi revisits the Godolphin Arms, a B&B in the Cornish seaside resort of Newquay that had been losing money because guests were being drastically undercharged for their stays. She advised owner Margaret Ashwood to take a harder stance and stop treating the hotel like an extension of her home and the paying guests like family, and also gave the dated decor a revamp. Two years on, Alex is keeping her fingers crossed that she will not have to get tough with Margaret again and that the hotel is making a profit.
