Indessen tritt Sohn Theo seinen neuen Job bei der Nachmittagsbetreuung von Schulkindern an. Er bekommt einen Schützling, der ähnliche Leseprobleme hat wie einst er selbst.

Theo inizia il suo tirocinio di psicologo come consulente presso un centro comunitario locale. L'incarico lo mette subito a dura prova: i ragazzi, vedendolo così giovane, pensano di potersi approfittare di lui e che anzi il giovane possa in un certo senso aiutarli a scansare i loro doveri. Ma il giorno dopo Theo capisce come affrontare la situazione e decide di aiutarli seriamente.
