Stan wurde ermordet. Commissioner Tony Scali sorgt dafür, dass der Täter, Terry Ross, für den Rest seines Lebens hinter Gitter wandert. Aber damit ist der Fall noch nicht erledigt. Tony erfährt, dass Ross einen Killer auf ihn und seine Familie angesetzt hat.

The force must rally themselves after Stan's death in a car explosion. Tony feels particularly bad, because he can't forget that he was the one who assigned Stan to work on the Ross case in the first place. After promising Stan's parents that he will find the man who killed their son, Tony launches a full-scale war on Terry Ross, not realising that Ross has hired someone to take care of the Scali family once and for all.
