When building a toy construction set, Nick and Sally wonder if there's such thing as a one-thing-does-it-all tool. Well, the Cat knows just who to visit to find out - Themba the African elephant! Themba, and her daughter Efia, show the Cat and the kids all the different things their trunks can do. Nick and Sally realize that elephant trucks are just like hands, so they already have a one-thing-does-it-all tool!
Wie schön wäre es doch, wenn es ein Werkzeug gäbe, das viele Funktionen gleichzeitig erfüllen würde. Dann wäre es für Nick und Sally viel einfacher, das Gefährt des Katers mit Hut nachzubauen. Laut dem Kater soll die Elefantendame Themba genau so ein Werkzeug besitzen. Doch Nick und Sally erklären sich erst einmal bereit, auf Thembas Tochter Effia aufpassen, und kommen gar nicht erst nicht dazu zu fragen, worum es sich bei dem Werkzeug handelt. Dabei liegt die Antwort so nahe.
