This is the first episode, in the junk shop called Sooty and Co. Sooty is feeling very homesick and Matthew is willing to do anything to get a smile on Sooty's face. It's not long until he does get a smile. Also Sooty, Sweep and Soo get a Camper Van so they can make deliveries to people, and Matthew gets a old bike!
There is problems with the plumbing in Sooty & Co., when Matthew, Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi are in the kitchen there is a leak due to Scampi for messing about with the plumbing. Then, Matthew and Sooty serve Mo in the shop, the ceiling is leaking and Mo gets soaked. Soo says to Matthew he could go out for some fresh air, but Matthew isn't to pleased when it is raining outside, but Matthew has a few mishaps outside!
Matthew is looking after a old orament for a friend. Matthew says he is very valuable and very old. Sweep sets a few traps so that no-one will steal Buddy Jolly, but Matthew gets worried went he doesnt know that Sweep has Buddy Jolly and Matthew falls into the traps set by Sweep. (Note This Episode Is a PG Rating For Mild Blood)
Matthew is having an incredibly bad day. First, none of his alarm clocks work and he is late for getting up and then his watch stops working. Sooty tries to mend his watch, but he only ends up ruining it. So Sooty looks for a new watch for Matthew and finds a waterproof divers watch. Matthew asks Sooty how he knows the watch is waterproof. Sooty then demonstrates using a hosepipe and Matthew gets a soaking! While Matthew is drying off, the magician, Shahid Malek, arrives to help Sooty fix Matthew's watch. Later, Matthew was busy on the telephone making an order for 100 clocks and sends Sooty and Sweep to fetch them in the campervan. But, when Sooty and Sweep come back, they don't have 100 clocks, but 100 cocks (baby chicks)! Matthew misheard the person on the phone and everyone sings "Think of the Good Times".
Soo convinces Matthew they can sell anything if they advertise it, so Sooty and Little Cousin Scampi make a video, Sweep makes a banner and Soo does a radio commerical, but not everything goes to plan. Sooty and Matthew go to the local shopping centre to try and attract customers to Sooty & Co, but they don't have much luck either. Then Soo comes up with a great idea to make money for the shop. Matthew sings "Everything's A Bargin".
Matthew has been reading a scary story and Matthew, Soo and Scampi dare Sooty and Sweep to sleep outside in the Camper Van for a night. All throught the episode they do things to stop them from leaving, but in the end they do and return to sleep outside Sooty & Co., but Scampi fools them and Sooty and Sweep lose the bet.
Repairing cars seems to be no challenge to Sooty, although when Sweep and Scampi want to get into the action, there seems to be more of a breakdown, rather than a complete repair.
Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Little Cousin Scampi are really happy when a parcel arrives from Auntie Maud with a present for each of them inside, but they aren't happy when Matthew tells them they each have to write a thank you letter.
Sweep wants to prove that he's not stupid and opens a rival shop. Matthew is worried as his regular costumers are going to Supermarket Sweeps instead of Sooty & Co. It is later revealed that Sweep didn't open a shop, he was just playing a joke and had been staying with a man who owns a little shop nearby. Matthew, Sooty, Soo, and Scampi are so pleased to have Sweep home that they throw a party for him.
From a toy baby chicken, to kittens, to puppies, to a human baby, and seeing a baby bump, Soo seems eager to want to be a mother of her own.
Sooty, Sweep, Soo, Scampi, and Matthew are heading to the theme park Camelot. However, they arrive to find it closed. Luckily, Auntie Connie is a caretaker at the park and allows her special friends to have the park to themselves for the day. They ride on the roller coasters and watch the jousting. Meanwhile, Scampi cannot figure out how to stop the ice-cream machine and ends up making an ice-cream snowman.
Matthew does not notice Sweep's brothers arriving and the striking family resemblance means that he gets very confused indeed. When Sweep's Mum and Dad arrive, the mix up is resolved. Matthew arranges for the Holme Brass Band to accompany Sweep on the shop bell to celebrate.
Matthew's looking after a dog called Label for his friend, but she keeps running away and they spend all day trying to catch her. Little Cousin Scampi uses a helicopter to go and look for her and then Sooty uses his flying machine, but they have no luck, but in the end they finially find her so everyone's happy.
Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi clown around, and Matthew has to join in. Matthew auditions the puppets for the best one at clowning. Matthew gives himself the job and is the target for four child clowns in Mo's clowning lesson.
Everyone in the shop is grumpy but when a documentary crew arrives, Matthew has to be nice for the cameras. Matthew also becomes jealous with all the attention Sooty receives.
Sooty invents a liquid that removes any stain. But the liquid stops working when Sweep gives the potion a stir with his bone.
Sooty uses his magic wand to tidy his bedroom. In the shop they discover a tape which sets them off on a treasure hunt. Sooty and Scampi go out with a map to locate the treasure, but return to say the treasure is buried at the back of the shop. Matthew swings the pick-axe, only to find a water pipe. He gets soaked.
Matthew, Sooty & Co are preparing their acts for a forthcoming talent contest. Matthew tells a joke which Sweep doesn't understand, but when he asks people to explain the joke to him they can't because they are laughing too much. At the club, Matthew tells some jokes, Sooty does his magic act, Sweep tells his joke and wins the contest. Later at the shop, Sooty & Co sings 'Sooty's Got Talent'.
Sweep challenges Sooty and Soo to a race. They ignore him but he runs around the house. Sooty challenges Matthew to a running race in the park, which Soo and Sweep sabotage by tying Matthew's shoe laces, and attracting elastic to Matthew. Finally, they are all magicked to a race circuit where Matthew in a Formula First racing car races Sooty in the Camper - they cross the finishing line together.
Matthew extols the virtues of recycling. Sooty & Co decide to recycle all of Matthew's clothes, which Mo takes for her son. Sooty and Sweep take aluminium cans to the recycling centre. Matthew gives chase to rescue his can-safe with £20 inside and ends up getting chased by the police on his way to the can crushing place but he is too late. However, Mo doesn't want his clothes and brings them back, and we discover that Scampi had safely kept the money after all.
Mo warns that a new health and safety officer has been appointed who will be checking out the shop. She sells them some smoke alarms which immediately go off. They silence them with a hammer. Sooty goes to visit the local fire station. Whilst being shown around, an emergency call comes through from the shop. Sooty travels with the fire engine to discover it is only a false alarm. Matthew is taken outside the shop and is soaked by Sooty operating a fire hose.
A man considers of building a tunnel between France and Manchester.
Sooty & Co try to sell things to Matthew, but he has no money. He says even if he had money, he wouldn't change, so Soo plays a trick on him and makes Matthew believe he has won the lottery. He becomes very mean. A financial advisor arrives and is horribly nice to Matthew. Soo reveals her trick, and Matthew agrees that money brings nothing but unhappiness.
Matthew remembers the previous week:- Auntie Maud rings to arrange a visit but it is left to Sweep to write the date on the calendar. On that date they all set off for the station: Sooty & Co in a taxi, and Matthew on his trike. Sooty & Co get there first and create havoc in a photo booth, and Sweep makes a station announcement. An embarrassed Matthew takes them home again. Back at the shop, Auntie Maud phones to remind them that she is coming the next day.
With the help of Sooty's magic wand, Matthew accidentally goes back to the Victorian times where Sooty is Sherlock Holmes.
Matthew is upset when people come into the shop to ask for Sooty's autograph rather than his own. Soo bets Matthew that not even two people will ask for his autograph by the end of the day. Matthew accepts, but in the shopping centre he discovers he is ignored by the children while Sooty, Sweep and Scampi are in great demand. Meanwhile in the shop, Jeremy Beadle is upset that he isn't recognized. When Matthew returns, Jeremy asks him for two autographs and Matthew wins his bet.
Sooty is having trouble with his magic wand after it broke. Later on in the shop, Matthew decides to use Sooty's wand to magic a customer, it works. It's Mr Dwane from the council, h wants a new type of water. The gang decide to try and invent a new type of water.
Matthew buys a barrowful of diaries from Mo, and writes about the puppets. We see the puppets doing the opposite of what Matt has written. Sooty and Co realise the stories are last year's: Mo has duped them yet again. A little girl buys the lot and a paper plane battle ensues. Matthew realises his diary is missing, with some very personal details in. Scampi produces the diary and Soo reads out some very embarrassing excerpts.
Matthew loses the first customer Sooty & Co have in weeks because they can't find some chain that he wants. In desperation he calls "Efficiency Plus" to help with the business and Connie Creighton arrives with the Kontrol King, a computer that provides anything and everything. Sooty reprogrammes it so that Mo gets covered in everything it produces. Matthew destroys the machine and decides things were better as they were.
A mysterious brown envelope arrives in the post, eventually Matthew opens it and discovers Sweep has been left a property. Sweep tells Sooty, Soo, Scampi and Matthew that they won't be staying with him and they can sleep outside. Sweep soon finds life lonely without his friends and wants to return home to Sooty and Co.
Matthew asks Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi how they would feel to look after old people. They think Matthew is talking about himself! Mo comes in and needs someone to look after her Uncle Stuart they all argee, but keep losing him! Matthew gets a visit from Mo to find out how Uncle Stuart is.Mo grabs Matthew and says if anything happens to him, he'll be sorry. Matthew tries to make himself look like Uncle Stuart, but in the end they find the real Uncle Stuart.
Sooty asks Matthew for batteries for his electronic game, and then Sooty is told about the old days about when Matthew was a lad, and is also annoyed by a Brass Band player. Through this episode Matthew shows Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi examples of toys from then old days and Matthew even dresses up as a lad from the older days. Then he dreams about being the manager of a Victorian Mill. In the end Matthew wakes up, and the Brass Band enter and start to play.
Matthew, Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi are in the Airport and waiting for the flight to come through. They get onto the plane and Soo tells Matthew Scampi has been in the toilet for a long time, he goes to the door and starts to bang on the door and tell him to come out, he notices Scampi is outside and their is a women in the toilet, Matthew ends up with a black eye. They enjoy sunbathing, all except from Matthew who rubs toothpaste over him because he thinks its Sun Cream. Later on, they go to a disco and everyone gets someone to dance with except Matthew! At the end they are all packed and ready to go back after saying Bye-bye, Matthew has a mishap and falls into the pool!
Matthew isn't pleased when his naughty Little Cousin Paul is coming to visit, but Paul ends up popular with Matthew when he sells to Mo, but will it last...?
Matthew is in a bad mood because of Mo. He says whenever she comes in she always manages to sell him a White Elephant. He bars Mo from the shop and he doesn't want them leaving the shop to see Mo, but Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi notice Mo has left her purse and they decide to sneak out to the market to give Mo her purse back. Matthew notices they are missing and decides to teach them a lesson. Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi but White Elephants from the market and Matthew pretends that he had a party when they were out. Matthew and the rest have a real party when they say sorry to him for sneaking out.
It's Christmas time and Matthew, Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi can't go to see a Pantomine because the business is doing so bad. That gives them a idea to host their own Pantomine for the local boys and girls.
Matthew challenges Sooty to a race across a local park and Sooty finds a variety of ways to make it a very close result and teaches boastful Matthew a lesson at the same time.
Matthew thinks that Sooty, Sweep, Soo & Little Cousin Scampi are too hooked with watching television, especially Scampi! When trying to convince Sooty & Soo to give it up, the two get Matthew involved in their own version of 'You Bet!'. Matthew soon releases what they've got him into he decides to ban watching TV in the house until further notice. After that, Matthew arranges a meet up in the dining area to start a conversation which doesn't involve watching TV...but it doesn't work! Soon, Mo arrives for another chat with Matthew, which most of it is about either characters from TV shows or even mentioning TV shows when Mo is giving advice to Matthew. After a television related conversation, Mo offers Matthew to sign up for the educational channel through cable television which means it won't matter to Matthew how late the others watch TV. The next morning, Matthew comes to the breakfast table where he finds Sweep studying for the first time! Sweep says he's a genius, but Matthew doesn't believe him. So to prove it, Matthew sets up his own version of 'Mastermind' with Sweep and Little Cousin Scampi going head to head although Matthew fixes the game so Scampi will win. Then Matthew discovers that it was the cotton wool which got stuck in Sweep's ear that caused Sweep to be the clever scientist he was.
Matthew is shocked to see that his article in the local newspaper has been edited out wrong, especially when they have placed his photo under another article. Soo takes the newspaper away and Sweep takes it from her to do some paper tearing, which turns into a contest against Little Cousin Scampi. Later, after complaining to the editor of the newspaper Sooty & Matthew decide to setup their own shop newspaper which gives the whole truth. With Sooty as the editor, Sweep as the Junior Reporter and Matthew as The Chief Reporter. Matthew interviews Mo in the shop and Sweep interviews Soo, but they both have problems trying to catch up with what they are both saying. Later, Matthew and Sweep go out of the shop to see if there's anything happening outside, but there isn't. But everytime they go back in, something does happen and they both miss it!
After reading a book about Ireland, Matthew takes Sooty, Sweep and Soo along with him for a weekend break. The main reason why is kept a secret for later, in the mean time they are all travelling in a caravan pulled by a horse named Hamish. After a wrestless night for Matthew, he decides to do a bit of salmon fishing - which he doesn't catch anything, apart from Sooty using his magic wand. Later, they all finally turn up at their destination (the main reason why Matthew brought Sooty, Sweep and Soo with him), Barley Castle, where Sooty could finally speak after 49 years...but will it work?
Matthew is in his bedroom and gets up to see if Santa has been, he hasn't. Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi are also excited. Sweep is playing with tins on the landing practising for when Santa brings him a real Drum Kit. Later on, they are down in the shop and a man called Tim is in looking for a Christmas Job Matthew says no. There is a rattle they think it's Sweep but its the plumbing. Tim gets the job, while Matthew, Sooty and Sweep look at the Chimney Flu. It is blocked with Sweep's Christmas list""A Drum Kit"" Sweep wnats to give his list to Santa himself. Sooty waves his wand and magics them into a land of snow. They meet Santa, have a snowball fight with Matthew, ski and do lots more. Then return home and sing a song to Tim, Soo and Scampi about their day in the snow.
When Sweep says he wants to meet Santa Claus, Sooty waves his amgic wand and they, with Matt, find themselves in a land of snow and ice - leaving Tim to look after the shop and Soo and Scampi. Tim invites a pop group, Code Red, round and they sing their latest release. Their fans buy everything in the shop. Meanwhile, Matt, Sooty and Sweep find Santa Claus, who gives them lots of presents. The three friends return to the shop by magic and all are reunited.
Sherlock Sooty and Sweep start the latest money making scheme with a group of officers which Soo makes Scampi the criminal with Sooty and Sweep the detectors. Once the others think Scampi stole Richard’s notepad, Scampi is locked up inside bars until confessing. They then begin tidying the shop up to get their rewards until Matthew returns. Richard Cadell and Liana Bridges make their first appearances as presenters and the last series of Matthew Corbett's era as a presenter of Sooty.
Sweep's love of mud gets him into trouble when it is decided he is a health risk.
Matthew, Sooty and Soo are trying to get a new computer working, but can't manage. Matthew finds Sweep and Scampi playing with the wrapping that the computer came in and gives them into trouble. Matthew goes to the computer shop for help. When Matthew is out they get a customer looking for spare parts, he offers to help them with the computer and manages to get it working. While Sooty and Soo are doing that, Sweep and Scampi are busy trying to catch a mouse. In the end it is caught and Professor is gone by magic, Matthew returns home to find that the computer is working and that it was his fault because he never switched it on!
Matthew and Sooty and Co. believe there is no such thing as The Invisible Man, so Sooty plays a trick on Matthew with an invisible vase and Matthew plays a trick on Scampi with a handkherchief and an invisible thread. Sweep, Scampi and Soo then play a trick on Matthew into believing it was the invisible man by using a magnet to move the mug across the table by itself. Matthew then believes he is invisible but when he drinks a bottle of syrup of figs, he makes a fool of himself by stripping himself to his underpants and causes him to have abdominal pain.
It's Sooty's birthday as Liana and Richard plan a surprise birthday party for him. They sing him a special birthday tune 'Many Happy Returns' as Matthew is in a box covered in gunge.
Matthew leaves Richard Cadell and Liana Bridges in charge of the Sooty and Co. shop. Liana gets stuck in the toilet because the key was broken. Whilst Richard tries to fix the lock, he gets his nose bleed, his head hit whilst lifting a stiff lid, and when the phone rings, Richard trips down the stairs which breaks his foot. Then whilst trying to pull a bone out of the lock, it hits him in the broken nose and then Sooty hits him in the head with a hammer instead of the screwdriver. Liana then opens her mouth and when Richard uses a pumper to get the juice into her mouth through the keyhole, it gets her face wet. Matthew returns to the shop to find out what Richard, Liana and others have been up to which he is not happy with Richard and others for leaving Liana locked in the toilet.
First of all Matthew and Sooty are teasing Sweep about being clever. Later on, Mo comes in and buys lots of Sheep pictures and shep toys off Matthew, but Mo says would he like woolen clothes, a scarf or a nice woolen jumper, he accepts, also Mo gives him two sheep and he has to take the skin off the sheep himself. Matthew, Sooty and Sweep go to Wales to return the sheep, and while they are there Sweep rounds lots of sheep into a lorry. At the end of the episode they sing a song called 'A Dog Is A Man's Best Friend'.
Little Cousin Scampi gets into trouble for taking Matthew's fake grasshoppers.
Mathew is reading a newspaper headline all about burglaries. Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi are tidying up. Later on, Matthew is quite upset to find rubbish everywhere and it keeps appearing. He thinks Sooty & Co. is not being burgled but 'Delgrubed'. Matthew tells us he thinks this because Delgrub spelt backwards is Burgled. In the end he decides to get some help and gets the police, in the end Matthew finds out that it was Mo leaving the rubbish and the policeman is a relation of Mo's. Matthew is stuck for words, but everything is fine in the end, the rubbish is all gone.

Matthew is planning to leave to work in another shop and gets ready to set off but Richard and Lianne have a surprise, a tape full of memories over the past 6 years and Matthew meets an old friend. Outside the shop, goodbye clips are played and Matthew shakes his head and the whole nation cries...
