This week, two young head chefs have the opportunity to secure a job working for Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton. Richard, the mild mannered 24-year-old head chef of the Victoria pub in Westbury-on-Trym, and Rob the cocky 20-year-old head chef of The Bank in Bexleyheath, have no idea that Jason is watching their every move. For Richard and Rob's first test, two actors pretend to be the world’s worst trainees in order to challenge our chefs' management skills. After hours of culinary mistakes, Rob fires our actor, but Richard relies on his boss to do his dirty work. What will Jason’s reaction be? Next comes the pressure test. The ingredients are one fake food critic, sprinkled with a coach party of customers with a nightmare food order and garnished with a waitress who gets everything wrong. The result is a great deal of sweating, swearing and screaming. With a long day in the kitchen, a last-minute table of the fussiest customers ever drive both our young chefs to such distraction that they refuse to serve any more food – much to Jason Atherton's annoyance. For their final challenge, Richard and Rob have to cook one of Jason's signature dishes for his own head chef. Mistakes and meltdowns are on the horizon, but from whom? And who will get the job that could transform their world?
Two young estate agents are secretly assessed for a job opportunity with property tycoon Kevin Green. The candidates are 20-year-old wide boy Dave from Sidcup and new dad 26-year-old Jamie from Salford. Both have no idea that the self-made millionaire is watching their every move as he subjects them to a series of tests. Both are faced with a viewing from a bogus buyer and a tenant from hell doing their best to scupper the sale. The moral fibre of the would-be estate agents is then put to the test as they try and value the property of a sweet but grindingly slow old lady. Their final challenge is to sell a multi-million pound mansion - unaware that the prospective buyer is one of Kevin's most trusted employee who tests just how much of the boys' patter is fact, or fiction. Will either candidate impress Kevin enough to land the job that will transform their world?
Two young stylists have the opportunity of securing a dream job with celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke. Marcus Martinez, a 25-year-old stylist from Croydon and Kayla McFarlane, a 19-year-old hairdresser from Southampton have no idea that they are being secretly tested for their dream job and that Nicky Clarke is watching their every move. Test number one for our hopeful hairdressers is to see how professional they remain when faced with clients who try and push them to the limit, and challenged by the most incompetent and annoying trainees. Next, a bluffing bride turns up late to her own wedding appointment with a number of bogus bridesmaids and a groom who does everything to slow down our stylists and put on the pressure. The result? Tension, tears and tiaras! Finally Marcus and Kayla are taken to a photo shoot where one of Nicky's top stylists puts them through their paces to create a gravity defying hairstyle. Who will flourish and who will flop?
Two young shop assistants have the opportunity of securing a dream job with Glamour Magazine editor Jo Elvin. 25-year-old shop assistant Mel Ashworth from Chester and 19-year-old Chloe Leyser from Bromley in Kent have no idea that they are being covertly tested and that Jo Elvin is casting her critical eye over everything they do. First up for the potential fashionistas is how to deal with awkward, rude and demanding customers. This is to test how they would deal with a bitchy celebrity if they got the job with Jo. Mel and Chloe are then asked by their bosses to put on an impromptu promotional party. With one hour to organise the celebrations, their only support comes in the form of worthless work experience girls whose job is to hinder, not help. Next, the candidates come face-to-face with fake fashion retail experts, who harass the girls to see just what they can get them to do. Finally, the girls head to a real fashion shoot where Jo’s senior stylist presents them with the ultimate challenge – to style a shot without making any fashion faux pas. At the end of the weirdest working week of their lives all is revealed, as our candidates discover who has got the job with Jo at Glamour Magazine...
