Heinz Florian Oertel berichtet unterhaltsam über Land und Leute, zeigt Kurioses und Wissenswertes aus einer Stadt, zwischendurch gibt es Musik.Nach seiner Tour über die Dörfer für Schlager einer kleinen Stadt zog es Oertel in die Metropolen und vor allem ins Ausland. Die erste Sendung kam aus Warschau, es folgten Budapest, Moskau, Berlin, Dresden, Krakau, Karl-Marx-Stadt und Prag.
