Usagi est désespérée d'avoir perdu ses pouvoirs, mais son envie de sauver les autres reste intacte. Los nuevos enemigos conversan sobre cuál es su objetivo: encontrar los tres corazones puros que contienen los talismanes para así obtener la Copa Lunar, después de lo cual liberan una nueva semilla maligna. Darien lleva a Serena a una casa abandonada donde una dulce niña cuida a unos gatitos abandonados. Serena le promete ayudarla a buscarles un hogar, pues la casa abandonada será demolida e intenta convencer a sus amigas de que adopten un gatito. La semilla se introduce en un rompecabezas ubicado en la habitación de la niña que cuida gatos, y cuando ella regresa el monstruo de la semilla la ataca. La niña huye hasta la casa abandonada en donde las Sailors luchan con el monstruo pero son derrotadas totalmente mientras que Serena sigue sin poder transformarse, por lo que el monstruo toma el corazón puro de la niña.
