Lawson and Grace try to talk-down a troubled teenager when she threatens suicide, trapped on a rooftop with her young boyfriend. She was later found to have killed her boyfriend's father. Grace's inexperience is quickly revealed when she tries to fix the situation, which ends in the young woman's tragic death.
The TRG is called out to a sports oval where a heavily-armed gunman shoots Stella, who is saved by her kevlar vest. When the gunman requests to meet with a senior officer, Lawson approaches him and finds he was actually a former weapons-master who intends on suicide-by-cop. The situation ends when, after trying to avoid shooting the man, Lawson is forced to shoot and kill the man when he pulls a handgun on him.
A criminal in custody escapes from the prison van he is being tranported in, and makes an audacious break for freedom. In doing so, he assaults Grace and takes a woman hostage. He then forces Josh to drive him around town before playing a little Russian Roulette. However, Josh is saved and the criminal is arrested
When the TR team intercepts a known drug dealer, they discover that a robbery is about to take place, which then turns into a siege when the robbers take hostages. One of the criminals falls into a basement beneath the bar and later dies. Dom goes in to try to convince the robbers to stop, but the owner of the bar is shot by a spear gun. Eventually, one of the criminals gives up while the other is arrested
Josh, Grace and Michael investigate when an alarm is going off at a high-security laboratory. They find that an animal rights activists group calling themselves 'Freedom From Torture' has freed almost all of the research animals from their cages. Michael is bitten by a monkey who is later found to have herpes
Michael is found cleared of the herpes. The team arrives at a big surburban party and find a group of teenagers have stolen a gun from a security guard. Stella and Michael then go undercover to try and retrieve the stolen weapon. Michael then saves a high school boy from being severely beaten by kids from a rival high school
Lawson and Stella deal with a suicidal ex-footballer, Michael and Josh chase burglars through a series of complex tunnels, and Kerry is kept busy at the hospital where Dom and Grace are recovering. Grace unfortunately dies abruptly, while Connor confronts Josh after Grace revealed to him she was cheating on him with Josh.
TR is given the responsibilty of protecting an underworld figure, who is testifying in court. A decoy is used, with an actor playing the man, but it goes downhill after the actor is shot dead. Serveral more attempts were made, and Kerry comes up with a unique way of protecting the man. Josh takes the man by himself, but is later cornered by the people trying to kill the underowrld figure. As they leave, TR shows up and the men are arrested. The episode ends with Micheal kissing Stella as she sleeps, and Kerry and Lawson having a conversation about the report on TR that Kerry wrote
When a family court judge is taken hostage by a disgruntled father, TR tries desperately for a peaceful resolution. As the situation escalates, Shannon is in a race to talk him down before Josh is forced to shoot him. While Lawson’s attempts to catch a killer are hampered by journalist Jacinta Burns.
When an ex-newspaper editor causes a disturbance at Federation Square, Tactical Response tries to talk him down before he tragically falls to his death. A series of TAB robberies lead Tactical Response to link the incidents to a man attempting to settle a score. Meanwhile, struggling to deal with repercussions of the cyclist's death, Kerry leads Leon on a wild night out.
TR is called to a domestic siege on the outskirts of Melbourne where they journey into dense bush to save a young boy. When Josh is shot, Lawson faces a dilemma in how to neutralise the boy. Meanwhile, Kerry receives the brief for the coronial inquest and must prepare to face the consequences of causing a cyclist’s death.
Stella's future in Tactical Response is threatened when she becomes involved in an illegal car race. Kerry faces the coronial inquest into the cyclist's death. Later, Boyd visits Kerry at home with a peace offering and Dom finds a creative solution to an unusual situation at a strip club where an out of control father demands to see his daughter.

As Tactical Response searches for the driver, Josh struggles to contain his anger. Tactical Response responds to a disturbance at a swinger's party only to discover the gatecrasher is a disabled woman. Meanwhile Lawson's love life takes a turn for the worse… or does it? He offers Shannon his spare room — will she shack up with her ex?

The situation turns serious when a member of the community hijacks a bus and demands the girls be released. When the hijack escalates, Lawson is forced into action with devastating consequences for the team when it is revealed one of them is responsible for the shooting of an innocent man. Stella clashes with Lawson as the team waits for the ballistic report.
As Lawson's growing obsession with the robbery crew threatens to pull Tactical Response apart, Josh shows his leadership as TR2 assist Drug Squad with the arrest of a drug importer. But things aren't as simple as they first seem when TR discover the offender's niece has been kidnapped and held to ransom. Josh must race to save the girl, in the process meeting her mother, Tash, who will change everything.
TR score a lead when an ordinary civilian unwittingly implicates himself with Andrew Kronin's gang. As Lawson pushes the man to get to Kronin, Dom takes umbrage. Dom snaps, turning his gun on TR and flees. As TR 2 track down Dom, Lawson exults when he recovers a substantial amount of the heist money.

Tactical Respose race into town, on the hunt for Oliver Ginsberg. They learn that Ginsberg has placed a very large bomb under the city and that he has plenty more deadly tricks in store for them. Lawson finds himself in an awkward position when he must work with Dom, now a member of the bomb squad, to defuse the bomb.
After the death of their mate Dom, TR honor him in their own special way. Kerry is shocked when her son James is arrested for assault on a flight from Vietnam. When James flees, Kerry finds herself in a race against time to save him from two violent drug runners. Meanwhile, Lawson refuses medical treatment when he is knocked down saving a cilivian from the path of an oncoming car. He and TR1 come to a new understanding of parental love when they encounter an abusive teenager who hates his mother.
TR are forced to work with a slick private security firm to save a kidnapped businessman. Working closely with its charming leader Shmitt, Shannon is enticed by the prospect of joining the firm. Lawson, however, has other plans as he and Shannon play the waiting game they take a moment to drop by Shannon's investment property, and they succumb to mutual attraction, as Shannon's sexual hiatus finally comes to an end. Unbeknownst to them, they have just been caught by a hidden camera, which Michael has set up to catch thieves.
Michael has been a busy man since being fired from Tactical Response. Thanks to the squad's head honcho Kerry he's now undercover, and his job is to bring down the Raineys, a family team of cocaine importers. He sets up a buy-bust meeting in order to bring the Raineys down and coaxes Josh into becoming his wingman. The trade-off location changes at the last minute and whilst TR catches some of those responsible. Col Rainey has taken Michael and gone underground. Has his desire to prove himself to everyone put his life in serious danger? Meanwhile, Shannon finds herself face-to-face with her attacker.
Tactical Response goes into overdrive as they desperately try and to locate Michael after his undercover buy-bust goes horribly wrong. Josh starts to crumble under the guilt of letting Michael get away while Stella is furious, realising her best friend, and once lover, may not come back alive. It's a race against time as Kerry fights political red tape and the remaining members of Tactical Response do anything they can to get one of their team back safely.
Tragedy can have a profound effect on those involved. Everyone has different coping mechanisms, and Tactical Response continues to reel from a tragedy within their own ranks. Stella can barely build up strength to face the day and Christian appreciates a comforting presence from Amber. Josh, feeling responsible and immense guilt from what has happened, goes underground, deliberately avoiding contact from anyone at TR.
The Tactical Response team continue their search for the man they believe is responsible for both the Police Minister and Michael's murders, as well as Josh's possible disappearance. They find out that he steals identities off people as a means of not being caught out, and Lawson has to make a big decision in order to catch him.
Tactical Response find themselves up against a carefully planned manoeuvre when Lawson and others are taken hostage by the Cuckoo as part of an escape attempt from a military courtroom. As part of the team negotiates for Lawson’s freedom, Josh and Stella follow their own investigation: searching for a bomb.
