The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame hosted its annual induction ceremony at Brooklyn, NY’s Barclays Center. The evening featured a string of heartfelt toasts by famous fans, star-studded reunion performances, and touching speeches by this years inductees, including Seattle rock titans Pearl Jam, legendary West Coast rapper Tupac Shakur, British prog-rock pioneers Yes, socially conscious 60’s folkie Joan Baez, English symphonic pop stars Electric Light Orchestra, and 80’s glam rock hit makers Journey. In addition, Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers was recognized as the recipient of the Award for Musical Excellence, Lenny Kravitz played a tribute to Prince, ELO opened the show with a tribute to the late Chuck Berry, and much, much more.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame today announced that the 33rd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, is set for Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Cleveland’s historic Public Hall. The Induction Ceremony returns to Cleveland in 2018 with a series of events, including a community celebration with free admission to the Rock Hall, a dedication for the 2018 Inductee exhibit, and other rock and roll themed events and activities at the Rock Hall and throughout the City. The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees are Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of induction. The 2018 Nominees had to release their first official recording no later than 1992. Nine out of 19 of the nominees were on the ballot for the first time, including: Eurythmics, Dire Straits, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone, Radiohead, Rage Against Machine and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine became eligible for nomination for the 2018 Ceremony this year, having released their first official recordings in 1992. Ballots were sent to an international voting body of more than 900 artists, historians and members of the music industry. Factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2018 Inductions, presented by Klipsch Audio, will be held at Public Auditorium in Cleveland on April 14, 2018. The 2018 Induction in Cleveland will also include a weeklong series of events including an Inductee exhibit opening, free admission day to the Museum and more. All Inductees are ultimately represented in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, the nonprofit organization that tells the story of rock and roll’s global impact via special exhibits, educational programs and its library and archives.

The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place Friday, Nov. 3, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 2023 inductees are; Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, and The Spinners. Along with DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray for Musical Influence, and Chaka Khan, Al Kooper, Bernie Taupin for Musical Excellence, as well as Don Cornelius for the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The 27th induction ceremony, which was filmed on April 14th at the Public Hall in Cleveland, features the inductions of Guns N' Roses, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Small Faces/Faces, Laura Nyro and Freddie King. Presenters at this year's induction included Chuck D, LL Cool J, Green Day, Smokey Robinson, Steve Van Zandt, John Mellencamp, ZZ Top, Carole King and Bette Midler.
