Janos Hunyadi

John Hunyadi (c. 1406–1456) was a prominent Hungarian military leader and nobleman, known for his key role in defending Europe against the Ottoman Empire. Born to a noble family, he rose through the ranks, becoming Voivode of Transylvania and eventually Regent of Hungary. Hunyadi led successful campaigns, most notably the Siege of Belgrade in 1456, where he repelled the Ottomans. His victories secured his legacy as a Christian defender, and his son, Matthias Corvinus, became King of Hungary.
