Unlimited War Powers, Climate Catastrophe, Worker Deaths Hidden

Lee Camp opens the show by talking about how corporate media refuses to acknowledge climate change’s role in increasing the severity of natural disasters. This is because our co-called news networks are largely funded by those who profit from the extraction of fossil fuels, whether it’s at home or abroad. Lee then shows how despite pandering rhetoric about how unfit Trump is, most of Congress voted to kill Rand Paul’s amendment that would end the unchecked war powers of the Executive Branch. Then, Natalie McGill joins Lee at the desk to discuss how the Occupational Safety Health Administration, the Federal government’s bid to ensure a safe and healthy workplace, recently removed its running list of US work related deaths from the front page of its website. This is indicative of a larger ongoing disappearance of worker protections and increasingly weaker unions. Finally, Naomi Karavani reports on how wealthy white communities are moving to resegregate public schools across the country.
