The Tohoku region of Japan is the northeastern portion of Honshu, the largest island of Japan. The remote, scenic region endured a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011, and the ensuing energy accident at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant following the natural disaster. “Railway Story” is a four-episode travel series that highlights the rebuilding and recovery of the region so that travelers can once again enjoy the wonderful bounties that the area has to offer.
