2011: A seguito del tentato omicidio di un concorrente del reality show chiamato "Paths of Love" Shawn e Gus vanno a loro volta sotto copertura come concorrenti nel tentativo di scoprire qualcosa. Nello show vari uomini competono per conquistare il cuore di una donna, Melinda, che tutti avrebbero potuto incontrare in circostanze diverse.
Proseguendo le indagini, Shawn viene involontariamente notato sempre di più da Melinda arrivando anche alla vittoria, cosa che provoca una grande e progressiva gelosia da parte di Jules. Successivamente il finto sensitivo si ritira in favore dell'altro concorrente, Danny, l'unico concorrente realmente innamorato di lei.
Parallelamente rivela che il colpevole dei vari sabotaggi è Hank, il cameraman nonché reale ideatore dello show, infuriato col produttore per essersi preso tutto il merito ed averlo tagliato fuori dai guadagni e dalla celebrità.
