The series premiere features the 10 grooming teams facing off in this week’s Immunity Puppertunity challenge, where groomers must turn a muddy mess of a dog into a prized pooch inspired by their “heart dog,” to stay safe from elimination. Then, in the Ultimutt Challenge showdown, teams must “unleash the beast” in their dog by transforming it into an entirely different animal. They will showcase their work on the glamorous dogwalk in front of judges Lisa Vanderpump, Dr. Callie Harris and Jorge Bendersky, who will vote on Best in Show and then send one team home with their tail between their legs.
The remaining nine grooming teams face off in the Immunity Puppertunity “shape up” where they must transform their dogs into a geometric shape. Later, in the Ultimutt Challenge, dogs are groomed into various holidays as the teams vie to be crowned Best in Show in hopes of continuing in the competition.
The remaining grooming teams compete in two brand-new challenges. This week’s Immunity Puppertunity is the glow in the bark challenge, where groomers must give their dogs a glow-up under the black light. Then, teams must bring out their best glitz and glam for the pet gala-themed Ultimutt Challenge. After each pooch shows off their star-studded groom on the dogwalk, judges must bid fur-well to one team.
It’s time for the most unique challenge yet as the veteran groomers must take a step back and coach their loyal assistants through a groom in hopes of getting immunity. The magic continues with a Disney-themed Ultimutt Challenge where the dogs’ grooms are inspired by characters from “Hercules,” “Frozen,” “The Little Mermaid” and more.
The quarterfinals are here! It’s the most A-List Immunity Puppertunity yet as dogs turn into stars in the Celebrity Dog-pelgangers challenge. Then, the teams compete for a spot in the semifinals during the doggy decades Ultimutt Challenge, where groomers must travel back in time and style their dog based on their favorite historical decade.
The semifinals have arrived as the remaining four teams compete for three spots in the finals. The Immunity Puppertunity heats up with A Dog For All Seasons challenge, where each team must design their pooch based on a season. Later, in the Game of Bones Ultimutt Challenge, groomers pull out all the stops for the last chance to impress the judges with mythological creature-themed grooms. Plus, Rebel Wilson assists in an extra special surprise for one team.
It’s the season finale and the judges are ready to grant one team the Best in Show title. The season’s last Puppertunity challenge is Bride & Groomer, where each team must style two dogs for their wedding day. The winner of the challenge will get first choice of dog for the final Ulti-Mutt challenge, which is the freestyle Grand Fur-nalé where stylists must design a dog that represents their grooming team. After showing off their creations on the dogwalk, only one team will be crowned Pooch Perfect and win the $100,000 cash prize.
