  • S01E04 Public Spending

    • October 21, 2018
    • BBC Three

In this episode, Luisa is tackling public spending. Services like the police, the NHS, local councils are all suffering from underfunding, and Luisa wants to find out why this is happening and what we can do about it. Luisa looks at her local council, Birmingham to see how cuts have affected the city. With not enough money in the government coffers, she looks at who could contribute more. From big business, the elderly to workers on the ‘gig’ economy, she looks at all these options. This subject is also a personal one for Luisa, as her mum died of cancer last year and she feels underfunding may have played a part in why her Mum didn’t get the best treatment when she was ill.
