Team Rocket greift unsere Freunde mit einer neu entwickelten Maschine an, die jedoch in die Luft fliegt. Durch die Explosion werden sowohl Pikachu von unseren Freunden als auch Mauzi von Team Rocket getrennt und landen irgendwo im nirgendwo. Pikachu schlägt bei der Landung mit dem Kopf auf und verliert dabei sein Gedächtnis. Mauzi findet Pikachu und erzählt ihm, dass es ein Mitglied von Team Rocket und sein bester Kumpel ist. Unterdessen suchen unsere Freunde nach Pikachu. Schließlich finden sie Pikachu, das mittlerweile von Jessie, James und Mauzi eine Gehirnwäsche erhalten hat. Pikachu greift Ash mehrmals mit Donnerblitz an. Unmittelbar danach flüchtet Team Rocket mit Pikachu in seinem Ballon. Doch Ash kann den Ballon noch in allerletzter Sekunde mit größter Anstrengung erwischen, und Pikachu erkennt, zu wem es wirklich gehört. Team Rocket kommt wieder zu seinem allseits bekannten Abgang, und unsere Freunde setzen glücklich ihre Reise fort.
Nearing Lilycove City, Ash and the gang soon come across Team Rocket who, as usual, try to capture Pikachu using one of their shock-proof mechas. However, they don't get very far when it starts to sink into the ground and, before long, it explodes, sending Team Rocket blasting off, but the explosion is so large it sends Ash and the others blasting off too (strange, they don't get blasted off at all for years, and then they get blasted off twice within two months...). The groups are separated and when Mewoth lands with Pikachu, he is overjoyed to find Pikachu has amnesia, and starts to tell Pikachu that he is a part of Team Rocket! While the two Pokemon start to look for Jesse and James, Ash, May, Max and Brock start looking for Pikachu. However will they find him before Meowth completely turns him against his friends?

Luego de otro intento del Equipo Rocket de robarse a Pikachu, Meowth y Pikachu salen volando juntos, Pikachu se da un golpe que le hace perder la memoria y Meowth se aprovecha de eso.

いよいよミナモシティに近づいてきたサトシたち。ところが、手前の森でいきなりロケット団におそわれてしまった。ばくはつにまきこまれて、ふきとばされたサトシたち。そして、目をさましたピカチュウは、ばくはつのショックで記憶喪失（きおくそうしつ）になってしまっていた。いっしょにふきとばされたニャースは、チャンスだとかんがえ、ピカチュウにウソをおしえてロケット団のなかまにしてしまう。
