Ash bestreitet ein hartes Match gegen Harrison, dabei stehen sich zuletzt Blaziken und Glurak gegenüber. Die beiden schenkten sich nichts. Am Ende aber muss Glurak den Kürzeren ziehen und verliert. Ash ist enttäuscht. Harrison ist im Halbfinale des Siegerturniers. Dort trifft er auf Jon Dickson und verliert gegen den späteren Champion der Silber-Konferenz, weil Blaziken vom Kampf gegen Glurak zu geschwächt ist und in diesem Match nicht eingesetzt werden kann. Auch Harrison ist enttäuscht, doch der Freundschaft zwischen ihm, Ash und Gary tut das ganze keinen Abbruch. Während unsere Freunde zusammenstehen, werden sie von Jessie, James und Mauzi überrascht, die es natürlich wieder mal auf Pikachu abgesehen haben. Mit Hilfe von Gary und Harrison kann Team Rocket aber sehr schnell in die Flucht geschlagen werden. Nun heißt es Abschied nehmen. Ash, Harrison und Gary gehen jeweils getrennte Wege, jedoch nicht, ohne sich gegenseitig für die Zukunft alles Gute zu wünschen.
Our hero is at the end of a tough battle with Harrison at the Johto League Silver Conference. The winner of this battle will go on to the semi-finals. Each trainer has battled hard and is down to their last Pokémon. Ash is using Charizard. Harrison is also using a high level fire type called Blaziken. Charizard flies up with Blaziken and is in position for a powerful Seismic Toss. After the impact, however, both Pokémon are standing! As Charizard tossed Blaziken down, Blaziken had directed a Flame Thrower attack towards the ground to propel it back up, softening the blow of the impact! Both Pokémon battle well, and it seems like neither will give in, but, in the end, Charizard faints. Harrison continues on into the semi-finals, but is defeated in the next round. After his battle, he tells Ash all about Hoenn and the amazing Pokémon there. As the Silver Conference comes to a close and the gang prepares to leave for Vermillion City, Gary makes a surprising announcement – he's giving up battling. He's decided to become a Pokémon Researcher.
Alors que Sacha croyait avoir gagné son match, c'est finalement son adversaire qui le remporte. Ce dernier perdra cependant son match prochain. Alors que la Team Rocket est dans le jus, on apprend que Régis décide de changer de voie, et de devenir chercheur Pokemon.
La batalla entre Ash y Harrison continúa, a ambos sólo les queda un pokémon: Charizard contra Blaziken, dos pokémon experimentados de fuego que decidirán quién tendrá una oportunidad de ganar la Copa de la Liga Johto.
Si conclude la lunga e dura sfida tra Ash e Harrison alla Conferenza Argento della Lega di Johto. Il vincitore accederà alle semifinali.
