In these stories, some fathers stayed up all night, tearfully reminiscing about the miserable years with their daughters; some were stubborn and rude, forcing the female Jiao'e to chase the boxing championship dream; some were quite old and dissatisfied with their children and employees. Some people are eager to start a family, seek warmth, and pass on the craft to their unrelated sons. There are misunderstandings, estrangements, contradictions, disputes between them, and there are even thicker family bonds that cannot be removed...

TBS テレビは、7月13日に日曜劇場『おやじの背中』 (よる9：00 ～ 9：54) をスタートさせる。プロデュースは『オヤジぃ。』『パパはニュースキャスター』『カミさんの悪口』などの数々のホームドラマを手がけ、多くのヒット作を送り出してきた八木康夫。毎回異なる脚本家のオリジナルストーリーの中で、10組の俳優が父と息子または娘を演じる意欲作だ。全10話。

　　父亲是山，父亲是海，父亲是和风旭日，父亲又是暴雨狂风。但无论如何，他永远是一个让人眷恋不舍、念兹在兹的存在。本片由TBS电视台“日曜剧场”推出，在制作人八木康夫的策划下，集结了镰田敏夫、仓本聪、山田太一、三谷幸喜、坂元裕二等十位当今日本影视界最负盛名的编剧，分别创作了关于父亲的形色各异、喜乐兼备的生活小品。这些故事中，有的父亲彻夜不眠，泪流满面回忆着和女儿走过的苦难岁月；有的执拗粗暴，逼迫女娇娥追逐拳击冠军梦；有的廉颇老矣，不满儿女、职工对自己的忽视；有的则渴望组建家庭，寻求温暖，并将手艺传给没有血缘的儿子。　　他们之间有误解、有隔阂、有矛盾、有争论，更有浓浓的化也化不开的亲情羁绊……
