Jay Weidner explores many ways that the silvers screen has held such strong sway over our society. From abstract devices to overt themes in plotlines, when we take a careful look at the tales told in cinema, we begin to see the true story of what is going on in the world. To better understand this, we examine various works from prominent directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Roman Polanski and David Lynch, including A Clockwork Orange, Chinatown, Mullholland Drive, and Twin Peaks. Doing so, we become empowered to see the world how it really is, rather than the illusion heaped upon us by societal puppeteers.
