Heizo got a visit from Omasa of Nusubito Sake Shop. Now a thief, Omasa left a rough and brutal clan to serve as Heizo's spy. Then Genpachi, a clan member, appears and reports to her that they will carry out the robbery the day after tomorrow and leaves. Omasa follows Genpachi but gets kidnapped on the way...
平蔵が若い頃に入り浸っていた「盗人ぬすっと酒屋さかや」の娘おまさが、平蔵を訪ねてきた。盗賊となったおまさは、残虐な急ぎばたらきをする一味から抜け、平蔵の密偵として命を差し出す覚悟、と訴える。そんなおまさの元に、一味のひとり源八がやってきて、盗みの決行は明後日だと告げ、去って行った。その後おまさは源八を尾行するが、その途中で何者かに連れ去られてしまう。
