Action Figures is the directorial debut of Travis Pastrana, Nitro Circus founder and 17-time X Game medalist, a film he wrote, directed, and produced alongside his best friends from the world of action sports and in association with Nitro Circus. It is a first of a kind film by these modern day action heroes in which each athlete contributed to filming and editing their section of the film. Action Figures is an energy packed, high octane, wild ride of a film that is both an ode to the old school action sports videos and a bold step forward in filmmaking and extreme human performance. This is Travis Pastrana’s personal passion project in which he makes the dream stunts of his close friends become reality. Travis takes the crew on its first trip to Japan for a crucial tour that will potentially secure more business in the Asian Markets.
The crew travels to Australia, where Travis attempts a side by side moto double flip, against the wishes of the tour promoter.
The crew makes their next stop at Nashville, Tenn. Travis tries to break a world distance record in a RZR ATV.
Anxiety fills the Nitro Circus Live crew as they wonder if the Japanese crowds will accept them. This drives Travis and the Nitro crew to search for a little fun. Erik Roner takes an unwilling Travis on his first ever ski trip in revenge for years of abuse. The Godfrey Clan’s ADD kicks into high gear and the Nitro Staff find an ancient Japanese art to help them blow off some steam. Later, Crum misses a call time and is forced to become a servant of the tour, while Travis and company try their hands at some real authentic Sushi.
The Nitro Circus Live Crew heads to the bottom of the globe for the first time to perform. Erik Roner wants to BASE jump into one of the shows but first has to get approval from the local police. The BMX riders put on a special show for the kids of the Soweto Neighborhood in Johannesburg who can’t afford to come to the show. And, back in the U.S., a broken Travis Pastrana convinces the suits at Nitro Circus to help fund a passion project of his and start production on it.
Upon arriving in Europe for a new tour, the Nitro Circus Live cast and crew are faced with many obstacles; from missing ramps, to not being able to practice for a new show, to constant rain. Jolene, Tommy, and the crew head out to wreck a few speed karts and the Godfrey’s arrive in France to do a press stunt for the new tour.
Jolene and Nitro Circus Live crew go deep into the jungles of Africa to find adventure. They head to Zululand to hang with a Zulu Tribe and lend a hand in the massive anti-poaching effort in South Africa. Meanhwhile, other cast members jump in the water with great white sharks and Bilko hosts his own African Themed talk show. Back in the U.S., Travis is busy trying to justify keeping some of his friends on tour and employed.
Travis and the Nitro Circus Live Crew take a quick break from touring to enjoy some time in Europe. Travis takes the Godfrey Clan to Croatia for a competition fueled holiday, while the rest of the crew spends some time in the far North of Sweden, wrecking everything they can get their hands on. Back in the U.S., Bilko feels left out, so he tortures the nitro team until he gets what he wants.
