Ned's Newt

Der Junge Ned will sich endlich ein Haustier beschaffen. Da er nur einen Dollar ausgeben kann, bleibt ihm nichts Anderes übrig, als einen Molch zu kaufen. Nachdem Ned festgestellt hat, dass sein Molch Newton nur faul auf seinem Stein herumliegt, geht er zurück zu dem Tierhändler, um sich zu beschweren. Dieser empfiehlt ihm „Zippo“, ein Zauber-Tierfutter. Nach der Fütterung verwandelt sich Newton plötzlich in einen zwei Meter großen Molch, der zu ihm spricht und sich beliebig verwandeln kann. Mit ihm durchlebt Ned seinen Schulalltag und erlebt kuriose Abenteuer. So reisen beispielsweise beide mit einer selbstgebauten Zeitmaschine in die Steinzeit.

What happens when Ned overfeeds his 4 inch-long, lethargic pet newt with Zippo Newt Food? That little, harmless newt turns into a five hundred-pound monster called Newton: the most mischievous, gluttonous, fun playmate ever! An incredible mimic, Newton can camouflage himself to avoid detection from grown-ups and other kids, and is always there to lend a sympathetic ear or clown around with his best pal Ned. This can be a real problem when Mom wants to know who destroyed the shag rug with the lawnmower - but works great when Ned needs help standing his ground with the school bully. Ned and Newton are inseparable.

En nourrissant son animal de compagnie, un triton amorphe nommé Newton, avec les vitamines fournies par le marchand, le jeune Ned l'a transformé en animal gigantesque à l'appétit insatiable et à l'imagination délirante. Newton est ainsi devenu le meilleur ami et le confident du garçon qu'il s'efforce de rendre heureux par tous les moyens et de préférence les plus drôles. La cohabitation avec ce triton bleu gigantesque va semer la panique dans la maisonnée car Ned doit cacher son existence, ainsi que les catastrophes qu'il provoque, à ses parents. Mais si Newton est incapable de contrôler sa croissance, il est doté d'incroyables facultés de transformation physique…
