On a cold windy Saturday in March of 1911, a fire broke out at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City. In less than a half an hour, it became one of the deadliest industrial disasters in American history. It was the dawn of the 20th century. The United States was continuing to undergo the emergence of mass production led by the Industrial Revolution that started around 150 years before. At the same time, a new wave of progressivism was also starting to form, a movement which entertained discarding the current system for the treatment of industrial workers that had not been altered since the revolution began. As a result, a difficult battle formed between these two sides and made discussion of industries in general quite controversial. This tragic event would change everything.
