Mikoshiarashi and Tetsunoshiki were mawashi wearing middle schoolers who would practice sumo every day by the river on their way home. Scouted by a sumo master, both of them trained hard every day. Finally, during the final match of the New Year's Grand Sumo Tournament, Mikoshiarashi must fight his friend Tetsunoshiki for the title, but is completely defeated.
