เรื่องราวของหญิงสาวสวยชื่อนาคที่อาศัยอยู่ริมฝั่งคลองพระโขนงและความรักอันนิรันดร์ของเธอที่มีต่อหมากสามีของเธอ หมากถูกเกณฑ์ทหารและถูกส่งไปทำสงครามขณะที่นาคกำลังท้อง และได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัส ขณะที่เขากำลังรักษาสุขภาพให้กลับมาแข็งแรง นาคและลูกต่างก็เสียชีวิตจากการคลอดบุตรยาก เมื่อหมากกลับถึงบ้านก็พบว่าภรรยาและลูกที่รักรออยู่ แต่เขาไม่รู้ว่าเป็นผี.
