    Pilot produced for KTMA TV23 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This half-hour dry-run pilot featured riffing on only a portion of the movie and some rudimentary host segments. It was never shown on television and no fan copy is known to exist. However, the primitive "door sequence" and what appears to be the opening host segment, is featured in the MST3K Scrapbook tape, once sold by Best Brains, and it the pilot in its entirety was shown by Joel Hodgson at a convention appearance by Cinematic Titanic. Never aired, production still for TV23 places production date as 10/3/88 Original film made in 1969.

    Movie Plot: Japanese monsters Gamera and Barugon fight each other. Intro: Joel explains the show's premise and plays a phone message from a viewer. Segment One: Joel plays more phone messages, some asking for more of the show and another asking them to show the movies unriffed. Segment Two: A caller asks for more Chapstick (mispronunciation of Slapstick), so Joel and the 'bots promise to use more chapstick on the show. Segment Three: Crow gives a hygiene lesson. Segment Four: Servo and Crow make prank phone calls. Original film made in 1966.

Callers are invited to take a Ted Turner survey. Segment Three: The crew debates the authenticity of the movie's monsters. Segment Four: Gypsy and Joel sing Christmas songs. Segment Three: A young caller invites the crew to his birthday party. They can't go, but Servo's birthday greetings turn into a long rant. Segment Four: Servo talks about the upcoming new year. Segment Two: Joel is very depressed so Cambot plays messages from viewers to cheer him up. Most of the calls are about Gypsy. Segment Three: The SOL crew talk about their New Year's Resolutions. They countdown the last seconds to midnight. Segment Four: The crew reviews the movie. Original film made in 1971.

Segment One: Crow dreams that he is in control of the experiment and the Mads are forced to watch the movies. He keeps sending them "A Planet of the Apes Christmas." Segment Two: Servo and Crow discuss dreams. Servo's is particularly disturbing. Segment Three: Joel tells the 'bots of his dreams, which include operating a crane and waiting in line for Metallica tickets. Segment Four: The crew sings about the Satellite of Love.     Movie Plot: Ants wage an attack against researchers in remote Arizona. Intro: The Mads sell Joel's car to raise $30,000. He then informs them that he had $30,000 hidden under the seats. Segment One: Joel tells Servo and Crow about Isaac Asimov's Rules of Robots. They don't agree. Segment Two: The crew discusses what they would do if they ever get back to Earth. Joel wants to turn off his water, which he had left running. Segment Three: The crew plays I Spy, which becomes a rendition of Wipeout. Segment Four: Joel makes Crow and Gypsy recite a new Robot Law.     Movie Plot: Futuristic world where apes rule the planet. Intro: All of the Mads' transmissions are intercepted by Servo and Crow, leaving them wondering where Joel is. Segment One: The 'bots look for Joel. After finding his uniform, they discover that he is locked out of the ship and floating naked in space. Segment Two: Crow and Servo debate whether or not to let Joel back in. Segment Three: After Cambot tricks Crow into thinking that Joel is back on the ship, Servo demonstrates ways to warp reality. Segment Four: Crow and Servo continue to debate whether or not to let Joel in. He still hasn't been let in by the time the show ends. Original film made in 1987.

Also riffed was the short: "Commando Cody: Radar Men from the Moon, part 1." Segment One: Joel invents an airbag helmet for motorcyclists. In Deep 13, the Mads have a new security system. Segment Two: The ship is attacked by demon dogs. Segment Three: The SOL crew try to negotiate with the King of the Demon Dogs. Segment Four: Crow tries to impersonate the Demon Dog's King. Segment Five: Joel manages to fool the Demon Dogs. Original film made in 1957, released in US in 1964.

Segment One: Joel invents toilet paper in a bottle. In Deep 13, the Mads open a fast food place: "Clay and Lar's Flesh Barn." Segment Two: Joel brings a strange spacecraft inside the SOL. Segment Three: The strange object is discovered to be Isaac Asimov's Literary Doomsday Device. Segment Four: While the crew tries to disarm it, the doomsday device explodes, turning the entire crew into Isaac Asimov. Segment Five: Fan letters are read. The winners of the "Name the Plant Guy Contest" are announced. Original film made in 1966.

Segment Two: Servo reads 'Tiger Bot' magazine. Segment Three: The SOL crew plays tag. Segment Four: The 'bots give Joel a haircut. Segment Five: The 'bots give a good thing/bad thing about the movie. Joel invents the cumber-bumbe-bund. Segment Two: The 'bots get stuck in a logic loop while trying to discuss Cody's flying skills, causing Servo's and Cambot's heads to explode. Segment Three: Crow and Tom play a Robot Monster game. Segment Four: The 'bots learn about surrealism. Segment Five: The crew puts on a skit about Ro-Man killing Joel. Segment Three: the 'bots try to understand the movie and pitch a script about a guy stranded on an island with robots. Segment Four: The 'bots fill the SOL with smoke to imitate the movie. Segment One: The Mads invent "Celebrity Mouth-to-Mouth Toothpaste", where celebrities throw up on your brush. Segment Two: Joel and the 'bots present a skit about the history of the space program. Segment Three: Joel plays "Rock 'em-Sock 'em Robots" with Servo and Crow as they discuss games of the future. Segment Four: Servo and Crow fight over the women in the movie. Segment Five: The 'bots give a good thing/bad thing about the movie. Gypsy thinks that Richard Basehart is the best thing in the movie. Original film made in 1969.

In Deep 13, the Mads invent tongue puppets. Segment Two: The crew present the biography of TV's Greg Brady. Segment Three: Gypsy has a flashback about Richard Basehart. Segment Four: Gypsy begins to regurgitate raw cotton, among other things. Segment Five: The crew tries to figure out the odd guy from the movie. Original film made in 1957.

  • S02E01 Rocketship X-M

    Movie Plot: An expedition to the moon goes wrong when they accidentally land on mars. Intro: Crow has a toothache. Segment One: Joel invents a large Drum Machine. In Deep 13, Dr. Erhardt has mysteriously disappeared, so Dr. Forrester has hired a new assistant: TV's Frank. He used to work at Arby's. Frank's first screw-up is to steal Joel's invention. Segment Two: The SOL Crew salutes the reporters of the movie. Segment Three:Joel and the 'bots discuss what things are funny when floating. Segment Four: Valeria from the movie Robot Holocaust visits the SOL in the Hexfield. Segment Five: Joel talks to Dr. Forrester about how mean it is to send a movie about a crashing spaceship to a guy being held captive on a spaceship. In Deep 13, Frank learns to push the button.     Movie Plot: A couple of sidehacking gangs get into a minor war of vengeance against each other. Intro: Joel tries to get the 'bots to go to bed. Segment One: Joel invents a Slinky named Getchen that talks and does tricks. In Deep 13, Dr. Forrester creates the Slinky tube which can let him be in two places at once. Segment Two: The crew discusses the requirements necessary to be a sidehacker. Segment Three: Joel instructs us on the terminology of sidehacking. Segment Four: Joel makes the 'bots Rommel hats. Segment Five: Joel sings "Love Pads the Film". Original film made in 1969.

    Movie Plot: An expedition to Africa to recover a missing heiress leads to trouble when she is made queen of the jungle. Also riffed was the short: "The Phantom Creeps, part 1." Intro: Joel and the 'bots toy with the forces of the universe. Segment One: Joel invents a radio controlled saw. Dr. Forrester has had his head transplanted onto a saxophone. Segment Two: The SOL crew presents an infomercial selling some of Bela Lugosi's Phantom Creeps. Segment Three: Joel explains to the 'bots the movie binocular vision trick. Segment Four: Two aliens visit the SOL with a list of demands. Segment Five: Joel and the 'bots put on a fake TV show, which has Frank entertained. Original film made in 1948.

Segment Two: Joel attempts to explain the cold war. Segment Three: The crew plays "Civil Defense Quiz Bowl". Segment Four: A Cosmonaut shows up and insults Billy Joel. Segment Five: Frank tries to suggest a movie for next week, but is rebuffed by Dr. Forrester. Original film made in 1958.

Segment Two: Joel and the 'bots create the "Old School for Old Students". Segment Three: Joel performs an autopsy on a vacuum cleaner, much to Gypsy's chagrin. Frank enjoys yelling at the temp, a guy named Mike Nelson. Segment Two: Joel and the bots go on an Outward Bound trip to the heart of the ship. Gypsy, meanwhile overhears the Mads' plans to kill Mike, but mishears and thinks they plan to kill Joel. Segment Three: Gypsy tries to find a way to get Joel off the ship and save him from the Mads. Despite her concern, Joel doesn't want to go. Segment Four: Gypsy asks Mike for help in getting Joel off the ship. He gets the keys to the SOL controls from Frank and informs Gypsy that there is an escape pod hidden on the ship. Segment Five: Gypsy uses the ship's only escape pod to send Joel home.     An astronaut returns from space, dead. The base that recovered him (staffed by three men called Steve, one called Dave, and a a lady Doctor) is then cut off from the outside world by an alien. The revival of the dead astronaut, the death of a scientist, and the discovery of alien embryos inside the resurrected astronaut's body bodes ill for the survival of those trapped at the base and for the rest of humanity. The movie riffed was "Night of the Blood Beast", the same film as episode 7-1. The difference between this episode and that one is that this version aired only once and the live action comedy bits were all related to thanksgiving. It was the non-thanksgiving version that was used in reruns, this thanksgiving version was aired only once. On the SOL: Crow goes back in time to the 1980s to talk Mike out of taking temp jobs, thus stopping him from getting the job in Deep 13 that got him trapped on the SOL / The 'bots are dismayed to find Mike replaced by Mike's alcoholic brother Eddie / Eddie tells the 'bots that Mike played in a band and died, prompting Crow to go back and undo his earlier mission. On the Widowmaker: Pearl has put Bobo and Brain Guy down for the night and invites Mike over for a chat / Pearl informs Mike that there is now an extra Crow roaming around 1985 Wisconsin.     Movie Plot: The souls of 4 teenagers are being hunted by a soultaker. Intro: The 'bots have a wet t-shirt contest. They don't seem to grasp the point, and leave Mike confused. Commercial sign doesn't come on when it's supposed to, leaving Mike to have to push the button. Segment One: Cambot picks up some odd interference. Gypsy informs Mike that the ship is having serious malfunctions. Meanwhile, in Castle Forrester, Pearl, Bobo, and Brain Guy are playing Monopoly. They couldn't care less about the SOL. Segment Two: Gypsy, and other parts of the ship, are seriously malfunctioning. Mike takes charge, but only succeeds in breaking the Hexfield Viewscreen. Segment Three: The SOL, still malfunctioning, is caught in another ship's tractor beam. In Castle Forrester, a soultaker comes for Bobo's soul. It turns out to be TV's Frank, who became a soultaker when he realized that second banana heaven wasn't all that great. Segment Four: The person from the other ship boards the SOL. She will then make millions of those little potato batteries and control the world's electricity. Unfortunately, Bobo forgets to get the potatoes. Segment Two: The crew has flashbacks to remember why Mike came up to the bridge. Mike's flashback is so blurry he can't remember anything about it. Until he remembers that he came to get his contact lenses. Segment Three: Pearl decides to make money off of the tourist trade by cooking up a monster lengend. Brain Guy sings a country song of "The Legend of Forrester Swamp." Segment Four: Servo starts a corporate whittling business. Segment Five: Crow starts some fires on the SOL. Segment Two: The Crew show how pathetic the "practical joke" at the beginning of the movie is. Segment Three: Mike presents a "Behind the Music"-style documentary about the folk-rock band in the movie. Segment Four: Crow and Servo send a camera, taped to a remote-control truck, to spy on Mike. Segment Two: The crew tries to complain to Pearl about the repetition in the movie by making Mike trip multiple times. Segment Three: Goosio visits the SOL as a goodwill ambassador, but the 'bots kill it. Segment Four: Crow delivers a speech about Maltese men. Segment Five: Since Joel escaped after a Joe Don Baker movie, Mike assumes its his turn. He's really just sitting in the water heater. The 'bots comfort him. In Castle Forrester, Pearl and Bobo are demonstrating "funny dress-up day" to improve workplace morale. Pearl is dressed up in wacky colors, Bobo dresses as Joe Don Baker from the movie. He wins, and chooses "Hamlet" but Pearl gets the last laugh by digging up this version. Segment Two: Crow and Tom try to scare Mike by pretending to be the ghosts of some of his relatives. Segment Three: The 'bots do a conceptual musical version of Hamlet. Segment Four: Mike hosts the game show "Alas poor WHO?" Segment Five: Servo and Crow make a Hamlet action figure, complete with pull-string soliloquy. Fortenbras visits Castle Forrester to complain about not being in this version of the story. Pearl kills him. Stinger: King Claudius does a double-take. Original film made in 1961.

  • S10E10 It Lives by Night

    Movie Plot: A man on a spelunking trip becomes a man-bat. Intro:The crew does some painting. Mike tests to see what different colors do to the 'bots emotions. Segment One: Pearl distracts the SOL crew while Bobo sprays them with poison. The poison causes Crow to grow extra arms, for Servo's hands to become huge, and for a small Servo to grow on Mike's back. She gives in to their complaints and finally sends them the antidote. Segment Two: The crew dresses as the cast of the Mary Tyler Moore show, with Crow as Mary, Mike as Ted, and Servo as Lou. Segment Three: The 'bots think Mike is rabid and give him injections. It turns out he just fell asleep while eating pastry and has frosting on his face. The 'bots are mad that the won't need the rest of the injections. Segment Four: Mike grows a mustache and asks Pearl what she thinks of it. Segment Five: On the SOL, Servo opens a franchise of the Buddy Epsen Hat Destress Original film made in 1974.

Segment Three: Mike auditions Pearl, Bobo, and Brain Guy for a dance show, like the guy in the movie. Segment Four: Mike and the 'bots keep crashing the SOL, testing the theory that in a crash women instantly become helpless, murmuring idiots. Segment Five: Mike pretends to be a man-spider. Meanwhile, Pearl has decided to move the castle back because in the suburbs, you cant throw your garbage out the window. On the way back, they have stopped at a "Pump & Munch" to diesel up the flatbed. Bobo is delighted at the balloon dispenser in the bathroom. Brain Guy keeps the "balloons" for his lady friends. Segment Two: The 'bots discuss the plausibility of Coily, the sprite from the short, and summon a sprite to get rid of Mike. Segment Three: Servo becomes a southern belle. Segment Four: Mike fails to create giant worms, creating a tasty snack instead. Segment Five: Brain Guy demonstrates the Forrester Fair's 4 foot bungee jump. Crow gets some huuuuge platform shoes, which he can't balance on. Original film made in 1976.

    Movie Plot: A super spy tries to steal a large chunk of gold. Intro: Servo finds the SOL employee handbook, which is written in typical Forrester dictator style. Segment One: Pearl has hooked the SOL up to a joystick and starts to mess with the crew. The joystick breaks and initiates the SOL's re-entry system. Brain Guy and Pearl are helpless to stop the SOL's return, which has Pearl quite upset. Segment Two: Servo disposes of the many Servo clones on the ship. Segment Three: The residents of the castle are moving on with life: Pearl becomes dictator for life of Qatar, Bobo gets a "job" at the zoo, and Brain Guy becomes the oracle of a planet. Segment Four: Crow is nervous about going to Earth, so Mike writes a song to make him feel better. Crow feels better, but the song makes Servo afraid. Segment Five: The residents of the Castle do a Mary Tyler Moore style good bye. The SOL violently crashlands on Earth. Gypsy starts a successfull Fortune 500 company called ConGypsCo. Mike, Servo and Crow settle into their small apartment to watch the strangely familiar "The Crawling Eye" Original film made in 1968.
