Michaels Steuerberater Tom Miller stirbt bei einem Verkehrsunfall. Durch diesen Schicksalsschlag wird Michael plötzlich klar, wie schnell alles zu Ende sein kann. Von nun an überschüttet er seine Familie mit seiner Liebe und beginnt ein völlig neues Leben. Er kauft sich eine alte "Indian" und plant mit seiner Familie um die Welt zu reisen. Und als Krönung legt er sich noch ein Toupet zu. Am Ende wird er doch wieder vernünftig und zur Freude der Familie wieder ganz der Alte.
Michael's accountant dies suddenly, making Mike take a whole new perspective about his life. He buys a wig (or a hair piece as he like to call it) and starts to demonstrate his love for his family in a weird way. He even buys a motorcycle and an RV, in a misguided effort to live life to its fullest. Jay tells the kids it's just a phase, but even her is going crazy with Michael. He only goes back to his old being after he cries the death of his friend and realize there's a lot more about life than he thought.

Ao voltar pra casa após tomar uns drinks com seu amigo tom, Michael fica sabendo que Tom havia sido atropelado e morto por um taxista. Daí então Michael "pira" e passa a querer curtir a vida... E exagera nos carinhos e cuidados com os filhos. Nesse clima de "curtir a vida" ele resolve colocar uma peruca (pois diz que o cabelo o faz se sentir bem)... Sua obsessão pela peruca causa muitas brigas com Janet!!
Michael começa a aproveitar a vida de maneira exagerada.
