My Favorite Husband is a comedy about a middle-class American couple with Barry Nelson and Joan Caulfield in the leads. A live production, the show originated from CBS Television City in Los Angeles. As George Cooper, a successful young bank executive, Nelson plays husband to Liz Cooper, Miss Caulfield. The show has newer and different sequences than the radio version of My Favorite Husband which propelled Lucille Ball to stardom. The episodes are based on Isabel Scott Rorick's books, "Mr. and Mrs. Cugat" and "Outside Eden." Nelson and Miss Caulfield portray a typical modern couple deeply in love, given to scintillating moods and with tendencies to slight misunderstandings and domestic pitfalls.
