The Sphinx

This second episode of A&E's series Mummies and the Wonders of Ancient Egypt examines the Sphinx, the massive and enigmatic half-cat, half-man that squats just above the sands of Egypt. The video examines the history of the object from its origins to the latest attempts at its restoration. Also included is a discussion of its desecration by Napoleon's troops who used its nose for target practice.
