In a lonely area Cecile is the victim of an attack which Sardou believes may have been carried out by a serial killer he is trying to trace. Shortly afterwards a beachcomber stumbles on the body of a further victim and sees a man running away; Cecile, however, is unable to pick him out of an identity parade and the man denies attacking her. Although the man succeeds in luring her to an isolated spot, Trevor arrive
