アークエンジェルの地球降下が始まる。猛追するクルーゼ隊と戦端を開く第8艦隊。如何ともし難いその戦力差に、キラもストライクで援護する。
Le Creuset attacks once again as the Archangel and the 8th Fleet approaches Earth. The Archangel is able to descend to Earth, but not without the loss of the entire 8th Fleet. Yzak Joule, the pilot of the Duel, vents his frustration by destroying a spacecraft carrying Heliopolis refugees that Kira had rescued previously.
Die 8. Erdflotte wird von 4 Gundams, die unter dem Kommando von ZAFT stehen angegriffen. Der Kampf endet nicht gut für die Erflotte und sie muss schwere Verluste einstecken. Die Archangel versucht in die Erdatmosphäre einzutreten, um in Sicherheit zu kommen. Vor dem Wiedereintritt setzt das Schiff den Strike mit Kira an Bord aus. Doch Kira wird von einer Druckwelle erfasst und tiefer in die Erdatmosphare geschleudert.
Comprenant que l'Archangel risque de lui échapper pour de bon s'il parvient à rejoindre la Terre, Le Creuset décide de tenter le tout pour le tout et de lancer une attaque massive sur la 8è flotte. Celle-ci se retrouve impuissante face aux assauts répétés des quatre Mobile Suits, surtout sans le soutien de Kira.
