My day on April 9, 2009.
Originality is NOT dead. Its in hibernation. We can be original if we are not afraid to think outside the box, while making sure that outside the box still makes sense.
A short little question. Non-partisan answers please ^_^

Just some dumb shit lol
A little video/rant about historical fiction.
Just a little catch up...
Does Anne have any responsibility for Mary and Katherine's fate?
And call her Queen?
I LOVED IT! OMG Spock is sexy no matter which version you get. Old, young, beard...
A little video dedication to one of my good buds here on YouTube. I'll do these things for more people if you share your B-days ^^
Quite frankly I enjoy both, but I feel that some of the comments 2005 fans make about the 1995 version are not really valid
SERIOUSLY! I am so sick of all these people bashing her, especially Anne fans. GROW UP!
A little reflection after church
My thoughts on the subject

One of my more serious videos, I hope I didn't come off too cocky or anything like that
We have to realize that what we need in a relationship isn't always what we want.
I just really want to thank everyone out there who has supported this channel. It is not only flattering but a true honor.
As much as this woman manages to draw me in with her writing, the way she writes history frustrates me. Anyone feel the same or differently?
I have to admit..it...its...its okay.
Its not that they don't, it is just that there are very few options.
I loved all of these movies so check them out
Despite its flaws (so many flaws) I love Marvel Comics, but don't get it twisted, I love DC too
It is pretty sad that in a time where we want equality for all sexes that it has somehow become wrong for girls to be girly and enjoy it.
These is the reasons why other fans of Henry VIIITudor's five other wives might be irritated with Anne Boleyn.
Why is it that we love the mean and the bad in fiction, but hate them in real life?

Me talking about relationships once more...
I'm sorry that I believe in redemption and storylines that show a different side of homosexuality than fabulousness.
Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance—-even her closest friends—-and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same . . . until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him.
This debut, the first novel in a trilogy, is achingly romantic, terrifying, and filled with blistering action.

Where we talk about labels and my fear of female sex organs
The animated adventure Batman: Under the Red Hood pits the Dark Knight against a trio of his most fearsome enemies while attempting to uncover the true identity of the vigilante known as the Red Hood. Adapted by Judd Winick from his own comic book story arc, Under the Hood, as well as the late-'80s serial A Death in the Family, Under the Red Hood is a fairly dark affair, with considerable amounts of violence, not the least of which is the act that gets the story in motion--the murder of Jason Todd, better known as the second Robin, by the Joker (voiced by John DiMaggio). The death puts Batman (Bruce Greenwood) into a guilt-ridden tailspin, but there's little time for mourning, as the arrival of the Red Hood (Jensen Ackles of Supernatural) puts the Caped Crusader on the defensive. Together with original Robin Dick Grayson (Neil Patrick Harris), now operating as Nightwing, his search for the Red Hood brings him in contact with the Joker--who, as DC Comics fans remember, started his criminal career as the Red Hood and is portrayed here as a violent psychopath à la Frank Miller's depictions--as well as the immortal Ra's al Ghul (Jason Isaacs) and Gotham's leading underworld kingpin, the fearsome Black Mask (Wade Williams). The confrontations between Batman and his foes are explosive but never overpower the dramatic weight of the story, which hinges on themes of regret, revenge, and redemption. Artwork is streamlined and expressive, while the scripting by Winick distills the essence of the comics into an action-packed hour.
Sorry but I do not approve
So Bad it facepalms itself!
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.
I mean shouldn't we all want them to read good stuff...
Explores the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media's limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman.
My thoughts and how I judge the work

DAMN!
Honestly, it's disgusting that girls really think they have the right to someone just because they are nice.
So my thoughts on which is better the books or the show and just how I feel about both things overall.
A free range rant with me and Steph
This is part one of my rant of the show Glee. I'm thinking of doing a video about all the characters and tearing into why each of them are annoying. This videos really just breaks down as to why the season season was horrible and how it fails at logic and any sort of drama.
Why should we have to choose between two good things?
You wanted so, here it is the review of Vampire Diaries season two. Sorry this took me so long Safari is very much a douche and foxfire is saving my ass. Also, I want to be clear that even though I don't like Delena, I have nothing against Delena fans.
Sorry this took me sooo long to post, safari and youtube are having a spat and I wasn't able to post this until now! FORGIVE ME
Damn this stupid show for sucking me in.
Just venting my frustration, sorry for the slight ebonic-ness.
No genre is crap free.
My thoughts on the Doctor Who series under Russell T Davis's run.
Me talking about some of the tropes in anime shonen and shojo.
and I found my old anime magazine where they ask which anime girl is the best.
One of these shows I liked the others not so much. Guess which one it was? Oh wait, why guess when you can just watch.
Yeah, I'm going to go in depth in this, sorry if you are offended or think I'm thinking too hard, but I like to think.
Talking about my opinion of dystopian lit.
Three shows that I have really enjoyed watching this past year:
Talking about the Faux-Action Girl and the illusion of autonomy it creates as well as the tomboy vs girly girl dynamic
Hope everyone had a happy holiday and that despite these hard times, everything worked out well for you this season!

Just some information about my study abroad trip.
My thoughts of the first two episodes of Korra as well as my general thoughts and expectations about where the show will go. Also, my fear of crazy shippers.
I went through and found the ages and birthdates of all the characters according to the westeros & a song of fire and ice wikipedia page.
Response to some of the comments on my last GoT review.
Tyrion and the Lannisters fight for their lives.
{EDIT} Some people consider part of what I said in the beginning to be a spoiler (I saw it in other reviews so I didn't think so, but I wanted to make note of it)
My opinions might change when I actually sit down and compile a proper review, but right now...just irritated.
So, after thinking and taking a moment to breathe I finally managed to get this done. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
So I was asked to do a response to a video about why women don't date nice guys and I recorded this to really get out my thoughts about the issues on both the dating issue and about Nice Guys TM. I know this video is going to be controversial, but I hope it spurs some conversation.
This video is serious, sorry but I gave you fun stuff too.
This was always a hard one for me to answer, but I've basically come to this conclusion about the whole topic.
Just my general issues with THG universe.
A question I get a lot of is how should people write female characters and this is sort of my condensed video about certain things people should keep in mind when trying to write and define strong female characters.
Properly explaining my feelings on the Promise
Some general thoughts about fairytale retellings and what I think makes some work. Might follow up with some discussion on individual tales if people want.

The short version of the review: Major Disappointment
*I might have mixed up Naoko Takeuchi last name really wrong at some point and forgotten to edit a correction. I apologize.
Just my own personal opinion.
I really only disagreed with one aspect of LW's video so it touches mainly on that, I do think that his other points and general idea of having parents being more involved is valid.
I love fanfiction and I always will support the fact that it can be creative, but this trend is getting on my nerves.
Enjoy the hours of time lost.
These two questions are ones I get often and I wanted to address my feelings on this topic since I get asked it so often.
We love our mommies, but sometimes don't we expect a little too much from them?
A poor adaptation of a good comic book series.
Dedicated to uberhikari. Will be going through and discussing my favorite Magical Girl anime shows.
Based on Greek Mythology---sorta
Now that I can full process what happened, here are my thoughts on the finale and final season/series of Merlin. If you love, love, love the finale...this video is not for you.
hell. i am in hell.
The Magical Negro is a supporting stock character in American cinema who is portrayed coming to the aid of a film's white protagonists.
Just my musings on the media genre known as blaxploitation. I forgot to mention this in the video, but is worth mentioning that a lot of these movies were written/directed by white people. take from that what you will.
Just a short video about my thoughts about the last few episodes of Lost Girl!
Thoughts on the later half of this season up to the episode "The Queen Is Dead."
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.
Responding to a video made by Zipblockgory about the character of Wonder Woman and just some thoughts about her character.
Since I already did a video with Larry from OtakuAssemble on this issue, I am just going to talk a little (probably the shortest video I've ever done) on this and just cross my fingers for season 3.
The premiere continues where the second season left off, with the Lannisters consolidating their power at King's Landing in the aftermath of the Battle of the Blackwater. Meanwhile, Jon meets the "King beyond the Wall", and Daenerys leaves Qarth for Slaver's Bay.
Sansa (Sophie Turner) says too much about Joffrey. Shae (Sibel Kekilli) asks Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) for a favor. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) finds a way to pass the time. Arya (Maisie Williams) runs into the Brotherhood Without Banners.
Scandal is an American political thriller television series starring Kerry Washington. Created by Shonda Rhimes, it debuted on ABC on April 5, 2012. Kerry Washington's character, Olivia Pope, is partially based on former George Bush administration press aide Judy Smith, who serves as a co-executive producer. The show takes place in Washington, D.C. and focuses on Olivia Pope's crisis management firm, Pope & Associates, and its staff, as well as staff at the White House.
Tyrion gains new responsibilities; Jon is taken to the Fist of the First Men; Daenerys meets with the slavers; Jaime strikes a deal with his captors.
An issue I noticed a lot this season.
We could have had it all.
Jamie mopes over his lost hand. Cersei is growing uncomfortable with the Tyrells. The Night's Watch is growing impatient with Caster. Daenerys buys the Unsullied
Robb's army is falling apart. Jamie reveals a story, to Brienne, that he has never told anyone. Jon breaks his vows. The Hound is granted his freedom. The Lannisters hatch a new plan.
I am not above being irrational when it comes to ranting about characters I hate. I figured after all the more serious topics I talk about, it's time to be a little silly and showing my fangirl side.
Sassy old people, torture, 90's romantic endings and heartbreak. All on this weeks episode of Game of Thrones.
The Yunkai hire mercenaries to protect themselves from Daenerys while Tyrion and Sansa are forced be wedded and bedded.
Daenerys' arrival to the city of Yunkai, the repercussions of the upcoming marriage of Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark, and Brienne's fate at the ruined castle of Harrenhal.
At what point do our opinions become worth-wild to the general discussion about a product?
Whenever an adaptation is made there is a conflict between those who know the original material and those coming in fresh.
Well that escalated quickly. But it was a successful dothraki wedding by far.
My issue with this bullshit idea and why it is so problem filled.
This review is largely unedited so I'm sorry for any weird bits, I was trying to get it out as soon as possible. Excited to hear what everyone thinks of the movie.
It confuses me. Deeply
Just me talking about how much I love pokemon and RPG and fighting games.
AN: Apparently he released another statement, but it was after I recorded this video that he said whatever it is that he said. I have nothing against Pedro Pascal as an actor and if he does identify as Latino there are still issues at play in the way the casting was handled. Also just in case anyone asks. I pictured the Martells Middle Eastern/Southeast Asian in appearance.
5 Live Action and 4 Animated movies I really enjoy despite their critical panning.
Since one of the big questions I always get is "how do I not make my character a Mary Sue" I decided to post this and clarify my thoughts.
The movie that brought Scooby-Doo back into the public eye and made all of us think it was cool again.
After a summer almost gone due to my b.s I've decided to finally get myself together and work on this damn novel. And you will get to see it from the beginning. Lucky you, right?
Week two in my journey to up my writing game. Plus, why do I choose to outline.
I don't think I'm asking for much really guys.
With Madoka being held as being one of the best magical girl series due to it's "dark" content, it begs the question of what exactly does that mean?
After the success of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, sequels were made and this was probably the most entertaining of those cash-grabs.
By now, I think everyone mostly knows that Serra Elinsen is an alias for the Nostalgia Chick and her team that put together this fun book. This is part review, part commentary on the issues in some paranormal YA.
I love witches so this show was my most anticipated watch for months. The results are mixed.
Spoilers for everything up to the premier of season 3B
So there was this episode.
I'm not Happy AT ALL!
Jon tells the truth, Dany is dealing with teenage dragons and the Lannisters are all having a hard time in Kings Landing. Arya's doing pretty well.
Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye.
So...some suspect shit happened in this episode.
In which I talk about the scenes I liked for these past three episodes, complain about the treatment of Sansa and talk super fast. Sorry for delay will make sure to be better about it next week.
I think we all have a bit of a headache.
Or is this an outdated/well-meaning trope?
I made this late this morning and i hope that despite that something good can come out of it. Let it be known that I still LOVE SANSA!
So it's back and so is the spirit world.
Sorry for the delay guys!
We are reintroduce to the Pretty Guardian in a Sailor Suit, Sailor Moon! Moon Prism Make-Up! Hell yes.
Possessed CD-Roms, Demon Bus Possession, just another day for Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts.
Despite my issues with Lost Girl, this is super sad news, but after True Blood being a fail for seasons, I am happy this is ending sooner rather than latter before it potentially becomes unwatchable.
Umbrella of Love!!!
After two less than stellar seasons, this one brings everything together in a great way.
Our witnesses have returned and with them the threat of War and the demon of purgatory. Katrina is also in trouble, but honestly who cares.
Outlander the show on Starz is my new favorite obsession...the book...not so much.
Bisexual women of color? On my Nicktoons? Praise be to Santa.
I finally finished the two and a half season of Arrow...mainly because of the Flash. Oliver Queen is the WORST!
After the success of Maleficent, Disney is going to continue feeding these big-budget versions of it's classic films, but do we really need another Cinderella movie?
I love the ladies on Arrow and the Flash, but the writing for them is so frustratingly bad that I want to punch a kitten.
SPOILERS FOR MOST RECENT EPISODE AND HARSH CRITICISM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
The "sequel" to Man of Steel that look promising, but we are not trying to get fooled again. It looks alright, and less Miller-ry than the last one and more balanced in having both Bats and Sups being the heroes of this movie. Although, there wasn't enough WW for my blood. Suicide Squad looks like fun and Harley and Amanda are going to be amazing.
Now being three months out of grad school here my thoughts on higher education. Enjoy lol
An amazing ending to an amazing show, BUT they did the one thing I had hoped they wouldn't have done.
I love Harley Quinn (Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D) and she is finally going to be making her live action cinematic debut in the Suicide Squad movie in 2016. Like ALL comic fans I have my hopes and fears about the upcoming adaptation, the biggest one being the treatment of Ms. Quinn herself, and here are the three big ones!
As I was working on a list of my top favorite book characters, I realized that ALL OF THEM where white and wondered how the hell that happens!
Sailor Moon Crystal, Dragonball Super, Girl Meets World bullshit. The Jem comic book series is the best reboot in our modern canon.
This was a very emotional episode. On the one hand, I really enjoyed the conflict between the extreme human element (Perry) and the extreme vampire element (Mattie). I can see why people ship them together, they are really contrasting foils for their representative groups, the same way Laura and Carmilla are. Of course the meat of the whole episode was the scene between Laura and Carmilla. Not only was it well acted, but it emphasized what I love about Laura as a character, she wants Carmilla to care and if she can’t care about other then they can’t be together, even though it hurts so badly. I love that about Laura and her character. As for Carmilla, I was sad that she was no longer on Team Vamp-Sis, since Mattie is clearly a ride or die for her and they have a centuries long relationship, however, I think her love for Mattie and her love for Laura are so heavily in conflict and that is taking an emotional toil on her. Everything about this episode was well done. Can’t wait for the next one!
In the latest issue of The Atlantic an article entitled "The Coddling of the American Mind" was released dealing with the issue of trigger warnings and how it has effected higher education. As someone who has dealt with the bullshit of higher education as a double minority i wanted to voice my opinions on the article, trigger warnings and the fear people have of thinking before they speak.
Recapping
I just want to draw your attention to the word favorite in the title. It's favorite, not best. If it were best this list would be constructed a lot differently and feature two or three major omissions, which if you wanna know any honorable mentions I put them on my tumblr post (here). What follows are 13 movies that I have watched multiple times and have shared over and over again with people because I think they are amazing. I'd love to hear any of your suggested titles and of course your disagreement. Comment and subscribe if you like and let me know what other top countdowns you'd like too see. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
I've always been the type of person whose gravitated towards strong female characters and part of the reason I ended up enjoying Horror movies was because of the ladies in them. I enjoy seeing women survive in situations like these and because most of the time it tends to be male slashers and female victims, there is this big phallic issue about the women having to fight and claw themselves away from penetration. There are many, many women who could have made this list, I had to cut it down to 6, so here is what we have!
Race has a very complex history when it comes to horror films and while feminism has discussed the issue when it comes to Gender, they still have not gotten to the heart of the issue of how to fix horror's horrible history with race.
So as someone who joined the Youtube community initially as an anti-Twilight-er, it was my solemn responsibility to review this book once it was revealed what Stephenie Meyer's reason was for the gender flip.
He is one of the smartest men in the DC Universe, a self-made millionaire, and a genius. On Arrow he's a sidekick? Why?
I'M BACK! AND I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT BLACK HERMIONE AND HOW SILLY STUPID RACISTS HAVE MADE A BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS ISSUES. PLUS LET'S LOOK BACK AT OTHER HP RACE FAILS!
Rumbelle on Once Upon A Time is one of the most toxic ships on television right now. Not only is there manipulation at every turn, but it seems as though we are going to be getting a baby out of this. Beyond that, we just need to discuss this show and its need to drop turds on our laps. Can We Be Done With RUMBELLE?
In his 8th film, Quentin Tarantino delivers a Western that many are calling a return to form, from the iconic director whose last few movies have been good---but a little long.
YOU ASK FOR 13, YOU GET 13 AND THEN SOME. I DID MY BEST TO KEEP THIS SHORT, BUT HERA BE DAMNED ALL OF THESE FEELINGS KEPT POURING OUT OF ME. FOR THE SAKE OF TIME I DIDN’T GO INTO DETAIL ABOUT THE HONORABLE MENTIONS AND I DECIDED THAT ANIME WILL GET IT’S OWN EPISODE NEXT WEEK! SO THANK YOU MUCH FOR WATCHING, PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE AND LET’S GO!
*Sorry for the camera issues, tried to add clips so you wouldn't have to be subjected to the horror that is my camera being passive aggressive (our relationship is still new).*
If i were to ask you to name a popular black science fiction or fantasy author most people can think of two names, if that, Octavia E Butler and Samuel R. Delany. So this video is about giving you both a brief history of black authors in the genre and some books that you may not have read and should check out. So that the next time you think “well if you want diversity you should write your own stuff” you will know just how full of it you are.
SORRY SO MUCH FOR THE COPYRIGHT ISSUE GRRRR!! LINK TO ME DANCING TO JPOP DOWN BELOW ON TUMBLR SINCE YOUTUBE DOESN'T LIKE ME :
I apologize for fudging up all the names in this video, because honestly a lot of the women on this show are killed and quickly forgotten. It's a problem. The person I refer to as Selene was actually named Celeste (I was sooo close)!
For this review I co-oped my boyfriend in order to get another perspective than wasn't as...bitter as my own. Enjoy! I apologize for the length, but I felt it was the most honest way to put it out. Also as a note about our unpopular opinion on LL: He is not the Luther we could have chosen, but I was more willing to accept this vision than other choices I saw than changes made to Bruce and Clark.
So rumors have been circulating that the death hinted at for this season is the death of Laurel Lance, a character that has been hated by a huge population of the fanbase for four seasons. Needless to say as a fan of the character, I am not pleased by this.
People are saying that critics are being haters and even some people are claiming that Marvel is paying people off. While that is a silly statement why does it seem like people are quick to rake DC over the coals?
Trash show does a trash thing.
It seems like writers are doubling down on stupidity this week. Enjoy that cancelation: the Twisted curse is now upon you.
Note: *This video was filmed after the Ruby Slippers episode aired, so it is mentioned as the most recent episode.*
Harry Potter is BACK...kinda. In this play not written by J.K. Rowling, we are brought back to Hogwarts to deal with father-son angst and time travel high jinks!
A secret government agency recruits a group of imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency, which inevitably leads to chaos.
It is finally here! Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life! A revival nine-years in the making for some, about five years in the making for me. I am getting ready to binge-watch the revival, so that I can finally finish binge-watching The Crown, but before I did…since my previous Gilmore Girls episode got removed due to copyright, I am going to redo it but summing up some of my more unpopular Gilmore Girls opinions today and then tomorrow I will upload my review of the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Rory is the worst.
Firstly, I want to say thank you to everyone who liked, viewed and commented on my Gilmore Girls video. I can’t believe how many views it’s gotten (over 20,000 as of the last time I checked), which is shocking to say the least. With that, I wanted to reach out to you guys and let you know what I’m working on and ask what you want me to talk about.
Before we get into this, I want to define what I mean by rape since apparently it’s a grey matter when it comes to magic. Rape is sex via force, manipulation, trickery or any type of deceit. So Love Potion: Rape. Shapeshifting spell: Rape. Lying to your partner in order to get them to have sex with you when they wouldn’t do so otherwise: Rape.
Who should be our new Gotham City Sirens? And can we please stop picking the most basic choices EVERY TIME!
It was recently announced that Girl Meets World was cancelled by the Disney Channel and while I get that for some this show was worth the time, for me it just reminds me that there is still a lot of diversity issues on television.
I feel like Black History Month is a trying time for a lot of us in the Black dystopia because in theory it should be a time of pride and celebration of black accomplishments. Yet I often feel like when you grow up in the states even if you are in a majority black or diverse area you don't really learn about black history. You learn about black suffering and black struggle. Black History Month in the states is so American-centric and male-centric, that you lose a lot of perspective of the scope of black accomplishment.
The Color Complex (Revised): The Politics of Skin Color in a New Millennium
LENA WHY? WHY?
For some strange reason black people are told that if they do certain things that they aren't "being black" or that those things are for "white people." Um...why? And boy, bye!
I see the signs and I am here to say, I SEE YOU VILLAIN & I do not approve!
Guy, you have no idea how much I'm going to rage. I hate the idea of this so much!
DAT KISS GUYS!
It didn't take long for the writers to be like "lol--nevermind guys."
I apologize that this is such a raw video, but I honestly felt the most comfortable with making this video like this. I will admit I rambled a bit too much lol.
It is a hard truth to swallow, but Disney kinda sucks at race...like a lot.
Often I am asked to talk about topics and sometimes they are enough for a whole video and sometimes they are only worth a few words. Therefore, this will be the first of many roundups to talk about a bunch of topics in one video.
This week we get to see Archie get Single White Female’d by the entire Blossom Family. Alice Cooper continues to be the best and Veronica deals with the fact that her father is possibly the worst person on the show.
Tells the tale of three mothers of first graders, whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.
It’s time for Veronica to lodge a complaint against the Blossom tribe (ha get it—lodge!) and Jughead’s birthday party becomes a hot mess when it ends up being about petty bullshit and not celebrating Jughead.
I always see a bunch of Youtubers and Fashion Bloggers doing these “Youtube stories” where they are super TMI and I decided that I wanted to do that for my 25th birthday.
I love period dramas. Like most things in my life, I blame Xena for that. This past week I was able to watch a special screening of The White Princess through Refinery29. It was an interesting watch. I am not a fan of Phillippa Gregory's interpretations of the women involved in the Wars of the Roses. However, I do often enjoy these types of shows because, despite it all, I know there are good acting and eye candy. The White Princess was no different and while I was watching it and listening to the Q&A after, I was thinking about how we tell the stories of women in history. Specifically as to how they choose to portray empowerment.
I promised that I would talk about feminism and I was looking for an introduction to it. Low and behold the pop culture fairies blessed me with this. I ask the question of what make a text feminist. I also say the wrong title of the book multiple times cause I'm a bit of a dummy. But I promise you I have read it, although I know some of you will hate me for it anyways and I understand ;).
Note: I haven’t watched the most recent episode so in the unlikely chance that the situation has changed, here is a disclaimer lol.
Well, this season-long game of Clue is over, at least partly, but we at least have answers. Not to mention a huge bomb has been DROPPED
I forgot to mention how much B.S the Josie/Archie scene was.
A follower contacted me on the Gram about his worries about liking movies that are considered bad (specifically mentioning the DCEU). I did film this before I saw and filmed my Wonder Woman review so I apologize for the slightly dated info.
This is the first of four LGBTQA videos I will be putting out this upcoming month!
There are a lot of shows that are called "spiritual successors" to Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (Teen Wolf in it’s prime, Lost Girl, Being Human, etc) but very few capture the full nuances of what made Buffy so special. In my mind, there are two shows that are out now that understand how to channel the smart writing of Buffy with the great cast of characters. One is Crazyhead, which I spoke about a few months ago, and the other is SyFy’s Wynonna Earp. Wynonna Earp premiered last year on SyFy and returned last Friday, June 9th for its second season.
Inspired by Roxane Gay (& Usher), here is me talking about the complex origins of my bisexuality. Including a certain Katy Perry Song
Ya girl did it! She's actually got a job in her field. It only took five years! Also Riverdale Review @ 4pm :D
So the latest episode of 'Game of Thrones' was ... let's just say not well received and while I agree that "The Last of the Starks" was not at all good, all this proves is that D&D never had any idea what they were doing in the first place.
If we are supposed to believe that Dany is supposed to be "mad" what is her illness and how has that been set up before? What does it mean to "mad" in the world of Game of Thrones?
A little later than I thought, but we are gonna discuss the changes made to Jasmine in the 2019 Aladdin live-action remake by Disney because...I had feelings. Lots of rant-y Disney feelings.
Some people are ... disappointed at Tifa's redesigned chest size leaving us all asking (1) why do you care so much and (2) do y'all really know what boobs look like? Cause it sure doesn't sound like it.
In this video, I’m gonna break down my feelings about the original Charmed series, the controversy about the casting and my feelings about the show itself.
We are vex about this development.
Of course, when I finally get this video up one of my favorite YouTubers does a video on the topic.
Like ... what if?
I love her, as a fellow 1992 baby, but have we been getting the best Harley Quinn content for all the material we have gotten?
Once you’ve been in fandom long enough you realize that everything stays the same, you just keep getting older.
They always say if you make Black characters, people will riot and yet when Batwoman made the change ... crickets.

I watched 'Slave Play' a few weeks ago and it left me feeling a lot of things that I am still unpacking but here is a taste.
Also, I enjoyed making this video, but I realize I want to do a whole Watchmen video later so that'll be coming sometime XD.
In which I praise BIRDS OF PREY expose myself as a DCEU stan (even though their movies don't always hit) and vent about my frustrations with the way we consume comic book movies.
Some very interesting things are happening to your girl also ... about that Q&A
A lot of comic book people have their preferences/biases, so why do we act like that isn't a factor in how we judge and attach to these films?
Was the timeline jumping in The Witcher hard to follow? Let's discuss.
Despite waiting for over a month to watch it and hearing the criticisms of it from fans of the original, I really found myself enjoying Frozen II. So much so that I would say it is far better than the original.
Sometimes you just need to focus on your own mental and emotional health.
When I started watching the show around two years ago, I was prepared to fall in love with Miranda who I saw as the white Maxine Shaw (Living Single came first, sorry not sorry). Yet, as I watched the show with my partner, the character I found myself falling in love with, sympathizing with and rooting for the most…was Charlotte York. Yeah, it freaked me out too.
We sometimes want so badly for people to be healed and to grow that we forget that growth not only takes time, but it has to be fostered in the appropriate soil.
It was announced that Rumiko Takahashi is coming up with a sequel series to the popular manga/anime Hanyo No Yashahime featuring Sesshoumaru and InuYasha's daughters.
My feelings on the subject are ... mixed.
Believe us when we tell you we are tired.
Note: I filmed this a while ago before everything happened in the news and I still wanted to post it because, Insecure makes me happy and I wanted to talk more about Black created content, so what better place to start than with one of HBO's most popular shows right now. #TeamMolly(ish)
Another filmed before all the chaos happened video. She-Ra and the Princess of Power has really meant so much to me so here is me talking about the show's final season, filled with spoilers. Also, I'm sorry for the few minutes of blurriness it gets better ???????? Enjoy ❤️
Facts of the case Zaiem Beg was a contributing editor, then editor-in-chief for Magic: The Gathering retailer and strategy website Channelfireball.com. On June 8th he shared this google doc story called “The Wizards I Know” about the anti-Black and racist environment he saw at Wizards of the Coast. Which included the fact that they would tell people of color heard “you don’t have experience for this role,” when they had more experience than the white person they ultimately hired.
I recorded this before the protests, JKR, and a bunch of other things and while this video isn't perfect, I'm really proud of how it came out.
I want to take a look at the book, it’s writer, and it’s literary impact and ask the question: Do Black People Need to Read Gone with the Wind? (Spoiler: nope)
And that's okay. Considering what J.K. Rowling has done with her politics and the major platform she has as a children's author, there is no way for me to ethically consume the Harry Potter series. So I'm giving it up.
Had to get this off my chest, because the constant undervaluing of Black actresses is just exhausting.
On the scale of BBC's Merlin to Starz's Camelot ... this wasn't so terrible. Them CGI wolves though—chile.
"This is the story of a boy and his dream. But more than that it is the story of an American boy and a dream that is truly American.”
Warrior Nun is like how to make the worst chosen one protagonist of all time 101.
Let's talk about the 90s-2000s cult classic "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer" and yell about all the things that still make us mad, make us love, and keep this series in our hearts. Spoilers for everything Buffy.

Not only is Jupiter Ascending overall a fun movie (sans the bad InuYasha romance), Jupiter Jones is a solid af heroine.
Antebellum may be the worst kind of trauma porn, but it only serves to show why need films that actually explore the lives of enslaved people.
The 19th Century was not kind to the girls.
During my quarantine, I’ve finally binge-watched the popular shonen anime My Hero Academia and the Amazon original series The Boys. Two very different shows, that gave me a lot of really deep feelings about superheroes. Both are words in which superheroes exist and both deal with issues of morality, capitalism, and what it means to be a hero, but both deal with it in a very Hobbes vs Rousseau kind of way.
'Tis the season to question romantic ... entanglements.
Redemption is more than you think ... and sometimes not even necessary. Today we talk: redemption, atonement, character development, and villain simping.
Bridgerton ... it's no Brandy's Cinderella, but it is a (small) step in the right direction.
But if you liked it then huzzah!
Many people are familiar with Loving v Virginia the Supreme Court case that made interracial relationships legal in the United States. However, there is a much lesser-known court case that dealt with interracial marriage many years before in New York City.
The year was 2008. I still thought I was heterosexual and was going to marry Alan Rickman and that I wanted to be “best friends” with Emma Watson. On the horizon, a very problematic awakening was about to begin.
As someone who grew up in fandom, this just keeps getting worse and worse—especially because of these over simplified ways we discuss everything. Feel free to disagree and debate, but lets try and come in with just like ... a crumb on good faith and nuanced thinking xx P
Of all the female villains in Western media, the one who stands out to me is Demona from the Disney series Gargoyles. Tragic, vengeful, and powerful her rage has stuck with me since childhood.

Gabrielle Union should absolutely be proud of all she has done, but it is also worth acknowledging how despite being so popular in the culture nexus—she was still smothered and underserved in an industry that knew she was special. What’s more is that ultimately, that hasn’t changed.
