Samantha, setting off one Saturday for an evening out with her boyfriend Charlie, feels sorry for Simon, who is staying in alone to watch an old film on TV. However, Simon is not left in peace to watch the film, as Derek arrives at the house, having been sent out for the evening by his wife.
