There are many immigrant communities in Britain today. They have brought with them to this country their own gods, their own way of life. Should they retain their cultural identities or should they become absorbed into the wider community? Enoch Powell believes that integration means ' To become, for all practical purposes, indistinguishable.' Do people have the right to be different? How different? Even at the cost of offending others? In America, as last week's Man Alive showed, Martin Luther King's dream of the lion lying down with the lamb - and whites being brothers to blacks - is still only a dream.
