On the north coast of Anglesey, construction has already begun on a super-tanker oil terminal for Shell. It is a £50-million development which promises unexpected wealth, new jobs and financial security. But there is a price to pay for this hope of a rosy future. The Anglesey Defence Action Group claim that the price is too high; that there is a grave risk of oil spillage on holiday beaches; that an area of outstanding beauty will be destroyed. The oil men say the terminal is ' in the nation's interest '; that it is necessary to meet the increasing need for oil products in the Midlands and the North West.
