洗浴城老板的女儿黑妞爱上了郝建，无奈郝建却只爱杂货店的收银员小兰。为了得到郝建，黑妞设下计谋，令郝建欠下巨款。郝建想尽快赚到大钱为自己赎身，于是他和老乡闫究森一起踏上追求成功的道路。这期间遇到了形形色色的成功人士，闹出了不少笑话。郝建惊讶发现小兰其实是一名舞蹈演员，小兰优越的条件让他望而却步。最终，郝建认清自我，脚踏实地的干出一番事业，也鼓起勇气向女神小兰表达爱意。几番起起伏伏，郝建认识到了，脚踏实地的劳动才是最靠谱的生存之道，也只有勇敢的付出才能收获美好的爱情
