مسلسل تراثي تدور أحداثه حول أحدي القبائل العربية القديمة، والتى يرأسها "أبو مبارك"، والد لأبن وأبنة، مختلفى الطباع، حيث يحاول "مسعود" الأبن المتعجرف الإيقاع بأبنة عمه، الواقعة فى غرام "حمدان" ، وتبدأ سلسلة من الأحداث التى تعرض حياة القبائل فى الجزيرة العربية، وقيمة شجرة "العافة" التى ترمز للأمان الذي يحمي القرية من وباء الجدري المنتشر .
