Der 14-jährige Lehrling Haru ist ein Period – so werden die Magienutzer genannt, die sich gegen die Monster Spirals behaupten. Aufgrund des Aufstiegs dieser Wesen, muss sich der junge Lehrling in eine endlose Schlacht begeben, da er als Teil der achten Arc-End-Division dazu berufen ist, den Kreislauf zu durchbrechen. Doch es kam zu einem mysteriösen Diebstahl, der die Division in den Bankrott stürzte und Haru und seine anderen Kameraden dazu zwang, ihr Hauptquartier zu verlassen. Nun liegt es an ihnen, jeden Auftrag zu überwinden, damit sie ihren Zweig wieder aufbauen und gegen die Spirals etwas ausrichten zu können.

Evil demons known as “Spiral” —made of souls who died in agony—threaten the people of the world. In order to stand up against Spirals, people founded the “Arc End” to suppress the Spirals. Individuals whose skills are recognized are admitted to Arc End to become “Period” to fight for peace.
Hal, who failed the Period admittance test 38 times, was accidentally admitted as an “Assistant Period” in Arc End 8th Squad. Forming a team along with other new members, Gazel and Liese, he is finally able to take his first step towards reaching his goal!

Seuls des guerriers Period peuvent combattre des créatures fantastiques appelées Spirals. Celles-ci naissent à partir de l'âme d'une personne morte dans l'agonie. Hal a échoué 38 fois au test d'admission des Periods mais il a toutefois été admis par accident comme assistant dans la 8e Division du commandement Arc End. La storia ha luogo in un mondo in cui delle creature fantastiche chiamate Spirals nascono dall’isolamento. Coloro che possono battere queste creature vengono chiamati Periods. Haru è un apprendista Period che appartiene all’Ottava Divisione Arc End. Tuttavia, a seguito di un misterioso furto, il quartier generale dell’Arc End abbandona l’Ottava Divisione, lasciando soltanto tre Periods tra cui Haru. Comincia così per quest’ultimo e per i suoi due compagni d’armi il lavoro di ricostruzione dell’Ottava Divisione.
「ピリオド」とは、絶望からうまれた異形の怪物「スパイラル」を倒す者たちの名である。
