This tale was painted by young artist Parmigianino in Sanvitale Castle on a vaulted ceiling supported by a corbel (a projection like a shelf) at the top of the wall. In the myth, when a hunter happens to see the goddess Diana as she is bathing, she transforms him into a deer now hunted by his dogs.
