The Jones family reluctantly become the subjects of a reality show "Life & Times in the Caribbean".
Irving and Angela throw simultaneous birthday parties for Tracy and Nathan and they both end in disaster.
Angela decides to host a Sunday lunch for her family and Irving's family. There is some clear animosity between the two groups and as a result, during the day, the sparks start to fly.
Tracy Jones goes on her first official date with her boyfriend Calvin and she soon discovers that he is not the Prince Charming she thought he was. Meanwhile the Joneses throw a party to celebrate being on TV.
After recognizing Calvin's true intentions, Tracy breaks up with him and spirals into a period of depression and self-pity. Her girlfriends, in a desperate bid to cheer her up, convince her to sneak out of the house to go to a nightclub.
Things have gotten awkward in the Accounts Department at Bargain City Supermarket (where Angela works) since the local airing of Life & Times in the Caribbean. As a result, the staff does a team-building exercise in order to boost morale.
It is the end of the first season of Life & Times in the Caribbean" and the local media interviews the Joneses about their first year on TV.
Sailbourne Entertainment returns to persuade the Jones family to do a second season of Life and Times in the Caribbean. Meanwhile Irving and Anderson, Angela's mentally ill brother who has come to live with them, join forces to get rid of a mouse which takes up residence in the Jones' kitchen.
One of Irving's childhood friends dies suddenly of a heart attack, forcing Irving to think about his life, his mortality and what would happen to his family if he died suddenly. Meanwhile Anderson is prescribed new medication which has unexpected side effects.
The Jones family, along with Anderson, Kirk and Ann-Marie are scheduled to go on a 7-day Caribbean cruise. However due to a miscommunication between Irving and Angela, the deposit was never paid. As a result they end up vacationing at a beach house.
As Tracy and Jason strive to define their relationship Jason wants to profess his love for her by giving her a ring. Meanwhile Irving prepares to deliver his first sermon at church.
Things get awkward at Angela's class reunion when an old schoolmate lets her feelings be known to Irving.
Irving's brother Willis and his fiancée Francine prepare for their wedding in the midst of intrusive in-laws and lovers from the past who threaten to derail the whole process.
It's Christmas and Angela's department has its annual gift exchange program. Tension mounts as no one likes the person they picked for the exchange. Meanwhile Angela whose pregnancy has come full term has gone into labor.
