After the show was canceled, Maia struggled with a crystal meth addiction and let herself be used by men to feed her habit. Her fans were left in shock after videos of her surfaced on the Internet showing her looking disheveled and strung out on drugs. Iyanla helps Maia re-establish a trusting relationship with her family and gives her the tools she needs to become a better mother to her 11-year-old daughter.
