It's September 1986 and the beginning of term. We follow Megan, a 16-year-old girl with a hearing impairment, on her first few days at a mainstream school, where she meets Jake and his group of friends. At first, she seems like an outsider, but Jake manages to break down the communication barrier so that he can ask her out on a date. First Sign of Love is a film about inclusion, exclusion and communication, in its many forms.
