Ukraine, February 24th, 2022: Psychologist Lydia is driving from Kiev to Kharkiv to file for divorce. She picks up a passenger on the way. But everything turns out differently.
Lydia's husband only wants a divorce on one condition. He wants Lydia, of all people, to bring his lover across the border to Poland to safety.
The French couple Lea and Christian are stuck in Ukraine. Her daughter-in-law Oksana asks Lydia for help, even though Lea and Oksana can't stand each other.
Lydia doubts the intentions of her passenger, Mykyta. He claims that he has to get medicine for his father-in-law, but Lydia suspects that the purpose of the trip is more dangerous.
Pavlo is a soldier and has to go to the front. His grandmother Tetyana really wants to say goodbye to him first. But Tetyana isn't sure whether Pavlo even wants to see her.
Lydia is supposed to bring Solya, the daughter of a soldier, to the Polish border. Her father wants to pick up the 13-year-old there. On the journey they make a momentous stop.
Lydia takes Taras with her in her car. He apparently belongs to the Ukrainian army, but otherwise doesn't reveal too much about himself. Over time the two become closer.
Lydia brings Taras' son Glib and his grandfather Anatoly to Dnipropetrovsk. The boy suffering from cancer is to be treated there. Old memories come flooding back in the hospital.
Lydia is under increasing pressure because of her divorce. She also asks her friend Stas for help. She is supposed to bring his wife Tamara home with their two children.
After surviving an attack on herself, Lydia travels to Berlin with her daughter Dasha. There she has a surprising meeting with her husband Dmytro.
