一部充满阳光和活力的青年励志式剧集，以轻松写实的手法描绘一个青年漫画家的奋斗过程。 邓建邦（詹秉熙饰）自小醉心绘画漫画，无心向学，其兄建国却为医科毕业生，因此邦常遭家人白眼。邦中二辍学后，任职办公室后生，结识上司麦正云（杨泽霖饰），未几即成好友。另外，邦更向其女同事殷翠儿（张曼玉饰）展开追求，但翠原与兆文（吕良伟饰）相好，对邦若即若离。 邦与公司发生意见，被借故辞退，而麦亦一怒辞职，邦与麦及其好友罗家勤（刘青云饰）合资出版漫画，销量其佳。三人大喜之际，不料家勤之父竟将版权售予漫画界巨子郭俭禧，顿令三人沮丧不已。幸好在爱情方面，邦凭着不断的努力和诚恳，终于获取了翠儿的芳心。
