The Horsepower honchos have a wake-up call for Project Nightmare. The ’96 Mustang GT gets a streetable Vortech supercharger that promises to add at least 80 rear wheel horsepower to the car. Following the installation, numbers will be laid down on the dynojet. Also, featured is coverage of the NMCA World Finals where a New Yorker racer sets a new world’ record in the Limited Street class.
Chuck and Joe take you through the entire steps of building a 383 stroker motor – from matching to complete assembly. They’ll use new computer software to calculate horsepower and torque even before the engine is assembled. Actual numbers will be made in a nearby dyno cell.
It’s the North vs. the South in an all-out, winner-take-all drag racing shootout. Joe Elmore gets right in the middle of this historic battle of Outlaw Street Cars at Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro, NC. Also, Chuck and Joe install a nitrous kit on their little hot rod Honda to see if it “goes or blows” in the Horsepower shop’s dynojet.
Chuck and Joe introduce their “new kid on the block”, Mike Galley, as they get the Super Nova ready for the drag strip. They’ll install a race-style fuel cell, fuel pump and regular. They’ll complete the fuel delivery system and the wiring, and then pump up the appearance of Joe’s ’96 Mustang with a unique seat makeover.

We launch our 55/SS project which is a 21st century version of the popular 1955 Chevy shoebox. We’ll build it from the chassis up with a 502 big block, then the trans, rearend, brakes and suspension. We’ll also visit the shop to show how the chopped top bodies are made from fiberglass.
America’s favorite pony is 40 years old. We’ll join the Mustang anniverary celebration at Nashville Super Speedway where some of the rarest, fastest and most gorgeous ponies will be present. Also, we’ll add a power programmer and set of free-flow headers to our LSI Camaro project car – nicknamed the “LSI Gun”.
