Tintin, aventurier-reporter, parcourt le monde en compagnie de son inséparable ami à quatre pattes, Milou, afin de combattre les brigands. Les faux-monnayeurs, trafiquants de drogues ou encore adversaires de la liberté n'ont qu'à bien se tenir : le jeune homme à la houppette et au pantalon de golf les traquera sans répit. Parfois avec l'aide de ses amis, notamment le capitaine Haddock, mais surtout grâce à son intelligence et son ingéniosité, Tintin est bien armé pour triompher.
