Today we're checking out some of the newest updates in the early access survival/horror game, The Forest. Build a base! Eat everything! Save Timmy! Outside of finding a place to call home, there's a few things in the game you can find in the same spot all of the time. Today I take you with me to obtain the upgraded spear. Although the upgraded spear is terrible at defense, it's speed and damage are not too shabby. It's also excellent at killing animals thanks to its attack speed while running, the ability to be thrown, and its ability to catch fish from water sources!
Beyond the plants that make energy mix and medicine, and the various animals and creatures that we can slaughter for food and armor, getting a decent place to make your base is also an important part of The Forest. In this Let's Play, we're checking out some areas that would work well for getting a good nights sleep, and defending against the inevitable cannibal onslaught. These mutant murderers don't take kindly to people chopping down their forests and effigies, so I imagine it won't be long before they are knocking on our door!
Today we're checking out some of the freaky, adorable, and colorful slimes in Slime Rancher. Pink Slimes, Rock Slimes, Tabby Slimes (Kitten Slimes as I call them), and all manners of other weird, freakish creatures. No matter how mind-meltingly lovable these slimes are, we've got to get them corralled in this Let's Play to, you know, make hair products and such from their essences.
Just like so many others, I tried so many different rendering settings to get rid of some of the annoying pixilation that happens when uploading gameplay and let's play videos to Youtube. You know how it is, you watch the video on your computer and it looks crystal clear, then you upload it to youtube and it's a pixilated mess. Sure, some of it can be video settings, or video compression, but here's the OTHER reason that youtubers, especially NEW youtubers that don't have many videos or view times get hit with terrible video quality.
No time for BS! We've got a massive amount of logs to harvest in order to get an appropriate place to live built. It's a slow slog, and you can always bet when the sounds of an axe chopping down a tree ring through the air, cannibals are going to want to check out what exactly is going on! Cannibals aren't the only things getting in the way of progress in this Let's Play, now it's...BIRDS? Whatever, we're getting this lopsided Willy Wonka house built one way or another, getting it trapped up, and taking this island over!
Today we're checking out American Truck Simulator! I drove plenty of R/C trucks as a child, so now in 2016 tackling an enormous Peterbilt 18 wheeler should be no big deal!
Today we're checking out a brand new twitch platformer, Blitz Breaker. Let's grab the reigns of this little robot and navigate out way out of the robot factory without getting skewered by spikes, sliced by saws, shot by giant bullets, and blown apart by bombs in areas 1-1 and 1-2!
Well, it certainly takes a lot of wood to build any decent sized structure in The Forest, but the developers listened! This is why I love indie games. Today we really get to see this upgraded log sled in action. Instead of the old 7 logs the sled used to be able to hold, this puppy now holds 11, and that is DANG nice when you need to get 100 of the things to build something. The cannibals are at it again though, showing that we can't turn our back for 5 minutes without getting a fricken effigy built up at our main base property!
Today we're checking out some of the newest updates in the early access survival/horror game, The Forest. Build a base! Eat everything! Save Timmy! The Forest just received a brand new update for version 0.32, adding a quiver to increase arrow capacity, boots to reduce movement sounds, the ability to make poison, and a bunch more!
Today I'm sharing my opinion on the Top 5 MMOs of the old school golden age! These are all titles that were previous to World of Warcraft, and I think it's fun to take a moment and pay homage to the games that existed before everything became what people repeatedly call "World of Warcraft clones". Back when I played these games they were tough, penalizing, and unforgiving, but that was what made finding success, getting good loot and maxing out your character fun.
Today I'm sharing my opinion on the Top 5 MMOs that COULD have been, but just weren't. These are all titles that had great concepts and some really interesting ideas behind them, but when the time came the developers just could not deliver and ended up canceling before the games were even released. Still, despite these games never having seen the light of day, I think many of them had unique and meritorious ideas that will hopefully be revisited by other developers in the future!
Today we're checking out some of the freaky, adorable, and colorful slimes in Slime Rancher. Pink Slimes, Rock Slimes, Tabby Slimes (Kitten Slimes as I call them), and all manners of other weird, freakish creatures. Today we are going to check out those enormous Gordo Slimes and make one pop so we can grab a slime key! After getting the key, it's off to the Moss Blanket so we can unlock the zone and have access to the various rarer slimes within, such as the honey slime.
Today we're checking out a brand new twitch platformer, Blitz Breaker. As if there wasn't enough trouble for our robot already, in areas 1-3 and 2-1 we're adding reversing treadmills and magnetized platforms to the deal. The question isn't can I beat it, the question is can I get through at least a stage in this episode.
After trying the many different traps in The Forest, I thought I would share what I feel to be the most ridiculously overpowered and efficient trap there is. The second place winner probably goes to the Happy Birthday Trap, but this one definitely takes the cake. In the video you'll watch it kill over a half a dozen cannibals in probably a minute or so. Anyway, I hope it helps you guys out when trying to protect your base as you get further and further into the game and more and more cannibals start flooding out to take your camp down.
Today we're checking out a brand new twitch platformer, Blitz Breaker. In area 2-2 things are getting turned up to 9000 as now we're dealing with water stages! Somehow the robot doesn't short out, but the water causes all sorts of uncontrollable mayhem as the robot floats and shifts about! The question isn't can I beat it, the question is can I get through at least a stage in this episode.
Today I'm sharing my opinion on the Top 5 Youtube Channels you can go to in order to find 100% Royalty and Copyright Free music that you can use in your monetized Youtube videos. There are plenty of websites out there that allow you to use "Royalty Free" music, but it's not actually free, you have to pay for the track, and sometimes pay a hefty fee to use it in a monetized video. The glorious folks that run these channels are doing Youtube quite a service, as they post links in each video about where to download the music, completely free, and how to property credit the artist so you can use it in your monetized videos.
In a sea of washed out colors accenting the shades of autumn, we're checking out a brand new indie horror release, Downfall. I've got some high hopes for this dark, adventure/physiological horror game. Having just released for purchase on February 15, 2016, we're jumping right into the shoes of a (at this time) young and spunky Joe, whom is clearly trying to get on the good side of the lovely Swedish maiden, Ivy. From the sounds of the game description though, it sounds like their love may progress to something...less than pure.
There's no other way to describe it, things are turning extremely dark in Downfall. Obviously it's an Indie horror game, but I will mention that the gore, language, and psychological fear is starting to get real. In this episode we get to see the place in question that will cause, I imagine, 'The Downfall'. Quaint, quiet, and utterly creepy, this “Quiet Haven” hotel looks exactly like the type of place you go to get tormented and die. Ivy is showing some severe personality issues, and it's time for Joe to step things up. Maggots? Obese bloody naked women? I'm not sure we can fix this...either way though, hope you all enjoy the newest episode!
The sanity issues with Ivy continue, but that's not all, we also get the opportunity to meet our first other individual within the game, and this person seems...not quite right as well. Given a room within the Quiet Haven Hotel, we are also given a set of instructions about how to behave due to the tenant of Room 102, but what exactly does that all mean? Who is in Room 102 and why should it matter? We also get a moment to slip inside of Joe's dreams and visit what he considers his "Quiet Haven". Thanks for watching!
Well, in this episode of the let's play things go from bad to worse. Besides dealing with inner personal demons, Ivy is just flat out missing. Joe is invited to the strangest party imaginable, and we start to see this freakish plot develop in strange and disorienting ways. It's no wonder the Quiet Haven Hotel is so "Quiet", you'll see what I mean. There's even a throwback to the horror movie The Ring. We also get our first glimpse at what I would consider an actually puzzle. If you are simply here for that, feel free to check out 15:16 where I explain how it works. Thanks for watching!
Well, I'm mostly a cat lover, but Joe? After this I'm not so sure. Joe continues to meet up with his ragged, rather homicidal looking twin-brother while striving to get a key that will lead him to his wife, Ivy. Or at least, that's what he believes. Our Hero also has the opportunity to meet up with this aforementioned "Sophie", whom has either played goaltender for a hockey team, or worships Jason Vorhees. It's very clear at this point we're starting to reach "Ludicrous Speed". Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. We've got a long way to go to buying a truck of our own and filling up the...shanty of a garage we have, so it's time to snag a quick job and move some stuff from Reno to Elko. What are we moving? Toys, of all things. What kind of toys? I have absolutely no clue. Time to warm up the old Peterbilt and get trucking.
Today we're checking out a brand new twitch platformer, Blitz Breaker. In area 2-3 we are faced with our first boss, and with no prior knowledge of how to go about taking it down, I've got to try enough different strategies to get the win. That's where my sanity starts eroding of course, as the attempts mount up. Pushing on from there, we move into area 3-1, which is the most difficult, deadly, trap filled, spike laden, bomb shooting, saw slicing area we've faced yet. Don't give up though, never surrender! We'll get past this yet!
There's points in games where you think things can't get any weirder. We just reached that point. Besides learning about the rather curvaceous hotel manager's, uh, sexual proclivities, we're finally able to begin searching through the different levels of the Quiet Haven Hotel. I kind of wish we weren't. Are there other people in this hotel? Yes. Are they absolutely fricken' insane? Yes. Are we getting any closer to finding Ivy? I have no clue. All I can say is that if things are as bad as they are on the second floor, I'm not sure I want to see the third or fourth. Oh, and extra bonus points, the game title is used during a sentence of dialog, just as every good title should be! Thanks for watching!
Hey everyone, in this 2 minute tutorial we're going to be taking a look at a quick, easy, essentially free way to silence your keyboard while recording gameplay, let's plays, tutorials, or anything that involves you typing or using the keyboard while recording. This particular method records no knowledge of any editing, no software of any kind, and really nothing at all unusual that you need to have or purchase to make it work. The video was recording utilizing the exact same settings throughout, so the result is the actual result with no editing, try it yourself. For reference, I use a Blue Snowball as my microphone, and I do not have a silent keyboard. My keyboard is the classic loud, mechanical style keyboard. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. In this episode we're getting all sorts of things done. Besides taking a load from Winnemucca to Jackpot, we also get a loan offer from the bank, get enough experience to get our first level and put a point into the Long Distance trait, and we purchase a Peterbilt of our very own! Now that our garage has an actual truck in it, we can really start pulling in some cash...also long as I don't crash into everything in sight or get more speeding tickets.
There's so much going wrong at this point I'm not even sure where to start. Joe is still searching for his Ivy, we discover more and more things wrong with the twisted Quiet Haven Hotel, and it becomes very apparently that this place is quite deadly. It looks like people check in, but never end up checking out. Joe is a brave man, he stalwartly continues forward so that we can eventually find out wife in this let's play. While I've found the controls to be a bit wonky, the story and gameplay are making Downfall into quite an enjoyable little indie horror game. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. In this episode we've got our own truck and it's time to start raking in the cash. It's time to take a job, this one going from Reno to Santa Cruz for a decent price. The only issue is, everything now rests on our head. Gas, repairs, time, fatigue. If you wanted to know what happens when your driver gets VERY tired, well, this is the episode. It's not just about making it to our destination, it's a question on whether or not I can actually find a rest area before my driver falls asleep behind the wheel. Beyond the occasional instance of almost driving off of the road and killing everyone, this is becoming quite a relaxing game to Lets Play!
Sometimes there's just nothing that can really be said to describe an episode. Joe deviates from the original plan of finding Ivy for just a moment to apparently finish the crazy Doctor's work. Besides the pig talking, brain harvesting, corpse reanimating weirdness, things get even stranger when we learn more and more about Agnes. Just why DOES Joe think he knows Agnes? The story is starting to gather more twists and turns in this Let's Play. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. In this episode we learn all about rest stops, how to identify them, and how to get some rest. Definitely a good tidbit of information to know, since my driver just about fell asleep at the wheel. With a pitstop in Truckee, we check out the beautiful lakeside property and head through some back rocks to get to our destination. The tiny 1 lane back road we take doesn't seem like a great idea for an enormous big rig, but the sights are definitely worth it. More successful delivers mean more experience to buy additional skills, and we take a look at each skill and its bonuses, especially the Fragile Cargo skill. Hope you're enjoying the Let's Play!
This is my channel trailer, packed with just about every bit of game trailer cliche goodness you could ask for. Time lapsed clouds! Ultra slow flying birds! Children exploding! People with their heads on sticks! Epic American Truck Simulator swerving! Me going insane while playing platformers!
In any game where there are multiple dialog options, typically most of the options are fairly 'safe'. They all mean the same thing, just worded differently. Every once in a while a character comes along that has dialog options of the things we WANT to say, but never get to. Fast forward to this Let's Play episode featuring Agnes. Straight up, no two ways about it, Agnes is awesome. Agnes does what she wants and doesn't take any crap from anyone about it. She's powerful, witty, a bit naive but still incredibly rational. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. In this episode we hitch up some home accessories and get ready to make a long trip from Santa Cruz to Primm. Besides apparently breaking just about every traffic law there is to break, I'm getting better at locating and utilizing rest stops to make sure my driver doesn't fall asleep behind the wheel. We also get the opportunity to discover recruitment agencies, where you can hire additional drivers to haul around cargo using extra trucks that you have. We don't quite have any of those yet of course, but soon! Let's keep making money. Hope you're enjoying the Let's Play!
Agnes and Ivy have no time for BS! It's time to bust out of this odd tiled prison and move on. To do that of course, there is a puzzle that must be completed, which is how to get a proper door handle to allow the door to function. Things go pretty well though! That is of course, until there is a meeting with an entirely new...person? Agnes has a good head on her shoulders, even if it's not filled with her own brain, but does she have what it takes to outwit the Queen of Maggots!? What a title. More weirdness and mirrors about in this Let's Play. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. So our truck has sustained some damage, probably due to me crashing into just about every obstacle in sight. This episode is short and sweet, we finish the job originally set out for us and then locate a Truck Care Center so we can repair the various issues that are going on with the truck. From now on I'll always know to look for the little green wrench so we can keep the Truck in top shape. Luckily we have insurance, otherwise keeping this rig up to par would end up draining our funds totally dry. Hope you're enjoying the Let's Play!
Joe is one determined fellow, considering all of the things he's gone through in an effort to find Ivy. Besides dealing with crazy axe wielding psychos, a hyper sexed manageress, slaughtering 'memories' and the like, now he has to deal with the ultimate challenge, being buried alive. Or is he? Apparently some call this "The Grave", but can Joe's ultra powerful Bruce Lee style One Inch Punch bust him out of this wooden prison? It's a fight for survival in this Let's Play. Thanks for watching!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. Today we're hooking up a big old tractor and trucking it hundreds of miles for a big ole' payout. We've learned where rest areas, recruitment agencies, and gas stations are, as well as what to look for when purchasing a truck, so now it's just a matter of getting enough money to continue to expand the business side of the operation. My next goal is to get the cash to purchase a spot in the garage for another truck, buy another truck, and hire a driver. Before we do that though, we're definitely going to need to get our loan amount increased, that's for sure! Hope you're enjoying the Let's Play!
Never give up, never surrender! That is clearly Joe's motto as he's still trucking forward, despite all of the totally unnatural things he has seen. Even then, there's plenty more to witness as continuity starts to fade away and you wonder whether your even in the real world, a different plane of existence, or if it's all in Joe's head. Agnes is apparently the only person with a level head on her shoulders, it's too bad she's borrowing someone else's brain. We get to see what Joe THOUGHT would be his future in this Let's Play. Thanks for watching!
Hey guys, it's GrayStillPlays. I woke up today and saw I had 50 subscribers, which is a really, REALLY cool thing I thought! I wanted to have an opportunity to say thank you to everyone, but I also wanted to get the chance to interact with folks and have some fun. That's what this video is all about! Feel free to leave a comment below with a Topic and a Genre of Music. Opium Addicted Possums Playing World of Warcraft? Kittens Fighting the Elderly at Wal-Mart? Whatever you want! The person with the most thumbs up (or the one that is just the most funny/original in the instance we don't have thumbs up or a tie) will get a poorly sung song written and performed by me for your amusement! Anyhow, at the end of the day, the best part of Youtube is the part that makes us all feel a little better, so I just wanted to try and contribute to that part. I'll probably let this go for a week and then put the song together. Thanks again folks! Much love!
We're back with more American Truck Simulator. Today hell legitimately freezes over as we go an entire episode without a single crash, infraction, or ticket of any kind. Is this the turning of a new leaf for 'Merica and Shotguns? I certainly hope so, because actually getting to keep all of the money we make for once allows us to start paying off our loans in advance, thus reducing the amount of interest we have to suck up. There's more as well, apparently we've done "well" enough in our earnings to receive a massive loan ceiling raise, up to $500,000 dollars! That means we're getting close to actually having a real live trucking business, recruiting drivers and expanding the garage! Hope you're enjoying the Let's Play!
